Be aware that Funimation is about to release a box set for Samurai 7(not the limited editions) for a list price of $100. My guess is that DDD will sell this for $60 and it'll be $48 during the next 20% off sale. So you have to ask yourself if it's worth an extra $62 to get the limited editions. For me, I would rather put the $62 towards another series.

Does anyone know if the Suncoast/FYE BOGO deal is still alive? I was at a Saturday Matinee(another TWEC store) yesterday and had them scan the Mahoromatic thinpak. Unfortunately, it rang up for the full $100. However, I was just on the FYE site(they have done a full overhaul to the site-they assigned new passwords for existing accounts, so you'll have to contact them to receive your new password) and noticed that they changed the prices on several Geneon DVDs. The Mahoromatic set is now $50. The individual volumes of DearS is now $10 each and they raised the price on the Trigun metal sets from $45 to $50. I'm hoping that they extended the BOGO deal and that these new prices on their site will ring up that way at the store. Thanks.

The Samurai 7 LEs are probably not worth it if all you want to do is watch the series. While the boxes are nice, they are huge and won't fit on most DVD shelves, and the only other included extra are the storyboard books which while novel, won't really interest most people.
That being said, I was happy to pick them up for 20 bucks a piece at Best buy last year, and this is an even better deal, so if you really like the series, it's a great price. |
