Yellow submarine dvd which is oop for 27.99

I just got a ship notice from fye.com for yellow submarine for 27.99.

This has seemed to been oop for awhile. I think there is a 10 percent off coupon and free ship coupon someone could provide

I suspect Yellow Submarine will be getting a much-needed anamorphic upgrade soon, possibly next year for its 40th anniversary.

They are starting to carry this in Wherehouse/FYE/etc. as a routine title according to my local store. They expect to always have one copy in stock at $29.99. It can be found on the Wherehouse site for $23.98.

That's what I'm thinking. Also doesn't Sony now own this?

They had nightmare before christmas for awhile too when it was oop. But I cant find it now. I knew the wherehouse had it but shipping is 3.95 on their site and fye had a 10 percent off and free ship coupon which came out cheaper for me.

Be careful. If this is one from the last pressing, mine has succumbed to "DVD rot". The last quarter of the movie is unwatchable, locking up any player I've tried it on.

Interesting... (and a drag for you!). Is there a way to identify the last pressing? I bought mine just before it went OOP and haven't had a problem. When I looked at my disc today, I was surprised to see it indicates Japan Region 2 in the hub of the disc (It was bought in Canada). Looking at it with DVD decrypter, it is regions 1,2,3,4.

Hmm, I thought it was anamorphic but the packaging screwed up the AR and encoding info. IIRC, it was listed as 2.35:1, but it appears to be 1.66 on my screen. But I haven't watched it in a while. . .
