What time should I line up if I want the HP laptop? Savings is around $300. I'm thinking about 10 pm?

In my experience in my area, I'd say NO.

But it may be different in your area however.

Just don't be shocked if none remain.

Since we already know what is going to be on sale, can we just go get it today or tomorrow and then go back on Friday to price adjust it? Doesn't their price match guarantee last 30 days after the purchase date?

According to Best Buy's website showing the Black Friday deals:

"Best Buy's price match policy does not apply to items on this page and is not valid on prior purchases."

YMMV, but from what I have been reading if you purchase the all day items ahead of time you can go that day and get the adjustment. You can't get adjustments on items that are on sale for only a few hours. Hope that helps and if I am wrong, feel free to correct me.

Yes, but the items on that page are the 7-hour-only deals. I'm wondering about the all-day stuff.

This may have already been asked, but does in-store pickup apply on these items?

The whole ad is labeled as follows:

"When it's gone, it's gone".

No rain checks allowed.

Almost everything listed in the ad has a minimum store quantity so I'd expect many outages of the most popular items.

Not allowed according to the ad.

I'm with you on this one.

I believe that if you are discreet about it, you'll be able to accomplish this.

The only thing I can't predict is whether or not the store YOU frequent will have a returns manager who will be a stickler for the rules.

In my neck of the woods, I'm known at Best Buy as a very nice customer and because I am pleasant and nice to the employees, I usually get what I'm after. Even during the very obvious Pink Panther Cartoon Collection price mistake earlier in the year I was denied at CC by a manager who was a stickler (who went back on her word I might add) for the rules, but scored at Best Buy less than a mile up the street after I spoke with the manager on duty using the same calm, mannered argument that I used at CC. I obviously was "recognized" by the staff who spoke to the manager before he came out to meet me and my argument obviously made sense.

In summation, it can never hurt to TRY.

Be aware that there are some additional items availbale for the 7-hour sale that will not be in the newspaper ads, such as a Toshiba laptop for about $250 and a Panasonic 42" Plasma HDTV for about $1000. Check some of the BF web sites.

Odd, when I clicked that link this morning, there was a different page. One with links to both the weekly ad and the the friday ad. Looks like they changed the page, maybe I can find a url in my history though. I'll check.

got a quickie question. With the Toshiba dvd recorder for 79.99, it says in fine print "can not copy copyrighted material." Is that just for dvd's or is it also for stuff on a DVR. Also, what cables would i need to plug and play to the dvr.

I went ahead and went earlier, at 8:00 AM...and they were sold out then.

Do you think they'd restock for tomorrow, since it was one of the two-day items?
