Sams & Best Buy (and maybe Target?) all have similiar prices on those sets, so whichever is closer for someone should work

is there even a point to buying new seasons sets of these shows when you know they will eventually drop to this price?

While it pains me to do so... I've put off purchasing 'veronica mars season 2,' 'nip/tuck season 3,' 'gilmore girls season 6,' and 'one tree hill' until the Christmas sales that everyones will be going down in december...

While sometimes we want to wait for the price drop, your better off to buy it right away. Otherwise you may not see the next season, because of low sales.

The main point is to catch up on a show so that you can watch the new season on TV. That's why they always release these sets 2 to 3 weeks before the new season starts up.

Of course if you watched the previous season, then you don't need to catch up before the new season starts. So if you don't watch in "real time" then you may as well wait and purchase when the price drops.

Well said, i am doing the same none of these series are probably in danger of the dvds being discontinued from low sales. Generally the most important test is the 1st season and some best ofs that are put out.

Target also has these.

I don't watch any shows live, so I usually hold out for big sales before purchasing any sets. They come along often enough that I always have a backlog of things to watch until the next sale comes along.

Almost all DVD will drop in price eventually. It's just a matter of how long you want to wait.
