It's Back! Earn Best Buy Bucks by playing monopoly game @McDonald's and BB online

I just browsed next week's BB flyer and the game is back. It kicks off on Tuesday, Oct. 4th and ends at the end of the month.

It says in the promotion they will give away 100 million worth of reward zone points, equal to 1 million bucks.

Check page 6 for details when you get the flyer.

Time to get busy folks.

Yeah, especially after all the super sized Big Mac meals I'm gonna eat to get the RZ points

Thanks for the heads up!

I vaguely remember this from last year...but I don't understand the 100 million RZ points equals 1 million dollars bit. As I recall, last year they simply gave a, for lack of a better term, gift certificate on certain McDonalds products...at least $1, sometimes more. Is it going to be the same this time around, or are they giving away reward zone points, where 100 equals a dollar (and if it's the latter, will you have to be a RZ member to redeem them)?

F*** Best Buy and that program. Last year I brought in $10 in game pieces and tried to use them to buy a CD. "Sorry, you can only use $3 towards the CD." I tried to buy the pre-order for World of Warcraft for the PC. "Sorry, you can't use any of them towards that." I demanded to know where it said this in the rules, and they couldn't show me, but refused to accept the game pieces anyway.

This program is good but not as good as before where BB would let you use as many BB bucks to purchase software.

Remember if you like Mcdonald's Chicken Select sandwichs then you can get an extra game piece. IIRC only large fries and Chicken Select sandwhiches have the BB bucks (maybe hashbrowns, can't remember).

Last year I did about 150 SASE for $150.00 in Best Buy Bux and a ton of food prizes. I used them online for DVDs with digital coupons. In store I was using Madden coupons last year, so I didn't need them. This year is awesome with 1 in 3 having $3.00.

No thanks to this program. If I have the money, I'll buy what I want without a small discount that will clog my arteries.

Why are we getting RZ points instead of BB Bucks this year? It sounds like you need to be a RZ member and deposit the game points into your account, then wait for enough balance to kick off a $5 cert. Am I missing some details here?

Small point of order...

100,000,000 reward zone points

15,000 reward zone points = $5 certificate

100,000,000 / 15,000 = 6,666 (and a smidgen) $5 certificates

6,666 * $5 = $33,330 in RZ certificates

(Still nothing to sneeze at)

you would have to SPEND $1,000,000 to get 100,000,000 points (100pts/$1)

ok, so this Self-Addressed-Stamped-Envelope thing ... You are going to send away to get the McDonalds tickets, spending $.37 to get there and $.37 to get it back. And most likely all y ou are getting is a $1 certificate? thats a lot of work for $.25 profit. And even if you hit the $3 every third time, its still a lot to do - i'd rather eat the fries

But the fries cost more than $.74 too. Not to mention the costs to your health. The SASE route seems the way to go, unless you're going to eat the fries anyways.

I haven't seen it anywhere yet, but does anyone know when the Best Buy bucks expire? That date will determine how many SASE I send cause the $3 limit per DVD will slow down their use.

Also, Cameron said they got enough last year to buy the criterion akira kurosawa box set. Did they not have the $3 per DVD limit last year??

Thanks,

From the website:

Best Buy Bucks. All Best Buy Bucks must be redeemed at a participating Best Buy retail location or online at BestBuy.com on or before December 3, 2005, and this date is not subject to extension.

side note..

as last year, you can use the 'extra' monopoly piece on the online 'instant win' game (roll the dice around boardwalk). IIRC, on the third week of the game the prized on the instant win game will either be an iPod, or a FREE ITUNES SONG.

Save up those extra monopoly pieces for week three, each one will (effectively) be worth $.99 for an iTunes track. That makes the mail-in (if you get them back in time) worth either $3 (2 itunes+1 bbBuck) or $5 (2 itunes+3 bbBuck)
