WTF?

I arrived at CrapUSA about 1 1/2 hours after they opened and they had none left. This happens at my local location everytime they have a sweet deal like this.

Got to CompUSA at about 1 p.m., didn't see any where it was labeled on the shelves. Decided to ask before PMing somewhere, so I went up to the cash register by the service desk (the only register open), waited for the guy in front of me to check out.

I ask, "So, you're completely out of Harry Potter 3?"

The cashier turns to his left, walks about three steps away, pulls a copy of HP3 out of a box on the floor, turns to me, and asks, "Do you just want one?"

It would have been nice if they would've put up a sign... of course, maybe then they would have been sold out by the time I got there....

Same experience here. Couldn't find any on the shelf but they had a few at the CS desk which were kind of hidden behind other crap they were selling up there.

Ended up PM'ing at Best Buy & using $3 in McD's BB Bucks to get it for $9.99.

I went to Walmart after work, huge line in the Video department for Mr Potter and Mr Seinfeld. I asked the cashier girl to price match and showed her the Compusa ad, had to point to it since its so freaking small. She adjusted it, no manager needed

$12.99 plus tax and I went home.

I went to Best Buy to price match--their price was $15.99. I asked, "so that makes it $12.69 with your 110% price guarantee?" The guy told me "no that's only if you already bought it". So I asked him if that meant I could buy it at $15.99 and then go to the CS counter and get it for $12.69. He told me that that is how it works, but rung it in for $12.69 for me instead of $12.99 as a "courtesy".

What a strange policy--100% price guarantee before you buy, but 110% after you buy?!

No hassle PM at Circuit City. They had plenty and I was in and out in a minute.

And Kyle, BB has always had that policy...they refuse to give the 10% unless you bought it already at their price. CC usually has it built in with a price match to give 10% extra.

I pricematched at my local WalMart, but it was a bit of a hassle. Showed the cashier the ad, but she had to call a red jacket because she didn't know whether they PM'd new releases. I thought maybe she was new so I waited.

Finally, Red comes and says no they don't PM new releases. I, of course, question that, asking whether that was a policy of that particular store because other WalMarts do. Well, then she said she had to call management. Close to five minutes later she returns and says it's okay.

Has anyone else had a problem like this? I recently moved to Albuquerque from Maryland and was quite surprised to have had a WalMart that has a huge poster outside saying they match competitors ads refuse to do so.

I looked at the ad and it says that the prices were only good through Tuesday, 11/23/04. So if you want it, you have to price match and hope that the cashier doesn't look at the dates.

the sign at the compusa I went to said through the 25th or 27th (friday, I'd guess). You can't really price match a store sign, though.

Interesting on the date thing. I didn't realize the price was only good thru Tuesday. I had NO problem PM'ing at BB today. Heck the cashier didn't even look at the CompUSA ad I had with me. She said she had already done several.

To top it off, I used $2 of McDonald's BB bucks to sweeten the deal.
