The UK version seems the same as the US version. I got the R1 version today at Target for $20 and the 5.1 surround sound is great! I was only 10 at the time so I remember part of it, but don't remember watching all 16 hours of it. Even if it is complete the proceeds are going to a good cause. I don't remember Tom Petty giving somebody in the audience the finger!

I also picked this up at Target today and they only had one copy (no display plus it was in with the music CD's).

This release is very nicely put together. Great booklet.
Plus buying the DVD gives money to Live Aid Trust... and that's a good thing

It is a shame that 6 hours are missing but it doesn't appear those will ever be released due to destroyed tapes, technical problems or a band's refusual to release performance. What's left I think is still great to have and for $20 at target (50% off list) it's well worth purchase.
Your going to find getting any more at Target this week is going to be tough. I called a number of stores in South Florida after work yesterday and found out they were already gone. I was lucky to pick up the last copy in the Fort Lauderdale store. Target is issuing rain checks or you may want to bring their Sunday flyer and try to price match at BB or CC.

By the by, as I stated in an earlier Live Aid thread, I still think Led Zeppelin could/should have recorded a "special feature" in-studio performance for this set... therefore protecting their "artistic integrity" while boosting the sales of this release.
