anyone have an experience with the anime dvd sets from hong kong? I'm assuming the english subtitles are really bad but how is the picture quality? They seem to cram the whole trigun series onto 3 dvd's... so i'm guessing it looks pretty bad?

Not only is it probably pretty bad, they're most likely bootlegs. I'm not going to go into a whole rant about bootlegs, but suffice it to say that they're illegal. Besides, Trigun is being released value priced right now, even if it is an excessive amount of DVDs...

I'm pretty sure you are wrong.
I paid for gotanime for a year, but I found that almost all I ever bought were the titles from these sales and never once did it apply to those titles that said "Not Eligible for Additional Discounts" but it would apply to the rare non-weekly-special title that I would occasionally toss in the order. So, I let my gotanime "membership" lapse since it was pretty useless. |

I was just browsing through the AOD forum and I pretty much got the same response - GotAnime discount does not apply to weekly specials. The FAQ seems to indicate the same.
