Alf Season 1 $21 at DDD

Not sure if this has been posted or if it's even of interest to many, but I just noticed that Alf Season 1 is only $21 and change over at DDD, while it's $32 at places like Best Buy this week. I was on the fence about it until I saw that. I'm definitely in. I'll probably also be getting my other 8/10 titles from DDD, as there's better prices on everything of interest I want; none being close to Alf, though.

I get my check today and that will tell me if I'm able to grab Alf at DDD next week. Been waiting for quite some time to get this set, too. <3 Alf. Funny stuff.

That's where I got mine. Was on the fence before I saw their price a couple weeks back. Not only nostalgia for me, but the kids will love it (anything is better then spongebob, anyways).

I too jumped on this one. I haven't seen it since it was first on and I was a huge fan of the show at that time.

I'm even thinking about snagging a copy for my dad since he used to watch it with me.........and since he currently only has one DVD in his collection.

I was skeptical about buying it since I'm not sure if I'll still like it but I told my mom about it and she scolded me because I was going to buy it. The backstory to that scolding was when I was a child, I loved Alf (as many kids did)....and one episode he gets in the dryer because it's his space ship(or thinks it is)...well, I got in our dryer, slammed the door shut and tried to take off like Alf did. Minutes later my mom opened the dryer to me banging on it and never let me watch Alf again. *laughs* Good times.

This is irresistable for that price. Like a few others so far in this thread, I haven't watched it since it aired and I was 3-6 years old. When Best Buy has it on sale for $32 and it's at DDD for $21, this one was a no-brainer.

So the episodes are edited? It's been so long that I wouldn't no the difference. What is missing?

For one thing, the infamous gay love scene from the second episode where Alf gets it on with the family dog.

The first Two minutes from the pilot and 3-4 minutes from every episode.

This sucks. I'd be more upset if I had paid full price for it, but even so, I may turn around and eBay the set or something.

Not that I don't believe you, but did you have original airings to compare them to? This is really disappointing...

No, but someone on the HTF has and first reported it.

How long is each episode supposed to be (roughly)? They seem to be about 22 minutes on the DVD.

The running time on the back of the box isn't even close. It states 616 minutes but if you add up the running time listed on each disc it comes to 573 minutes!

Something else to look for: I wouold be wary of ordering online as it appears that almost every set has loose discs in them. Crappy packaging!

Yes, the packaging is terrible! All four discs were loose when mine arrived. The menus are cute though...

Well, this "deal" continues to get worse and worse. I was just gonna eBay mine since I really have no interest in the set now that I know about the episoes, but looks like I'll have to open up the set. I may just wind up returning it if it's damaged. Can you get a refund or credit for damaged items?

I'll pick mine up Monday from the Post Office but I'm angry that they edited it and didn't make it known before hand(or did I just not look in to it enough). Blah. Maybe I'll go trade it in somewhere.

It's going to be really sad if they release season 2 before re-releasing season 1 uncut. Or they could just release 1 & 2 as a pack, with all episodes uncut. I'm going to wait and see what happens. Has everyone here written to them letting them have it for releasing the syndicut episodes?

This is OT, but question is in reference to above comment.

How do I go about PMing the price at DDD. I ordered when it was around the $21 price just this past week. Do I send them an email asking for the credit, or do I have to call?
