pretty good price, but folks should be aware that this is not the "unaired pilot" that there is a space for in the season one set... this is already present in the season one set without the extra disc

From tvtome:

"The unaired pilot is an earlier version of the first two episodes of the series, "Wheel of Fortune," and "What It Seems." The main differences are that several scenes were re-filmed, and two actors (Reverend Purdy and Dana Bright) were later re-cast."

Michael Moriarty (sp) played reverend Purdy in the unaired Pilot (he's actually much creepier than "Winchester"

When they filmed the original pilot, the "serial killer" storyline was going to run throughout the season, rather than be wrapped up in the pilot. Reverand Purdy was played as a "red herring" (a possible suspect), and so Michael Moriarty comes off somewhat sinister. When they re-filmed the pilot sometime later (it was originally sold to UPN and then they lost interest, -it was then sold to USA where it does quite well for them these days), they re-conceived the part of Purdy to be less of an antagonist for Johnny Smith. Moriarty was no longer available, and David Ogden Stiers was brought in.

I just got the season 1 set from DDD. Is there supposed to be something you can mail in for the unaired pilot? Because mine didn't.

Thanks,
Chris

The offer expired (I'm not sure when) so in the latest copies of season 1 no bounce back card was included. I ordered Dead Zone about a month ago and didn't get the car either. Lion's Gate is known for their releases though and I think this price reduction may signify another release. But that's just an assumption so don't quote me on that.
