Amazon.ca 50% off Fox 1st Season box sets

Right now Amazon.ca is running a special, 50% off the first season of fox box sets. The $10 shipping to the US kills most of the savings, but for X-Files season 1 it seems to bring the total price to about $60.80 shipped to the US, which is actually quite a deal.

Great price on Firefly (under $27 US). Too bad I'm up to by neck in boxed sets right now, or I'm jump on it!

^ Ummm, all you have to do is purchase it....they will charge convert and charge your credit card the equivalent USDs (or maybe they charge your CC Canadian $s and your credit card converts it...either way, its not an issue).

Anyone know if FOX does bilingual covers in Canada? I know they dont show up that way in the pics, but neither do the ones that I know are bilingual.

Well, now the problem is I want to know how much these titles would cost in terms of USD. -_-a I'm so difficult.

A quick search in Google.com for "currency changer" will give you about 100 options. I usually use this one:

Don't forget to add that some credit card companies add 1-2% fee for converting foreign currencies.

Don't forget your coupons...

MAPVSQ2SAVE5 $5 off, expires 08/31/04
MAPSCTELE5BP $5 off, 08/31/04
MAPMBNABANK5 $5 off, 09/30/04

I may just have to finally pick up Mary Tyler Moore. I'd get Planet of the Apes too, but I already got it.

Just to remind fellow Canadians, all of these Fox boxsets are alot cheaper at Futureshop.ca or at there B&M's. I picked up 24 Season 1 for $28.99 Cdn Funds. But Futureshop only ships inside Canada so anybody else is out of luck and should consider these Amazon deals

Damn... you're right - Futurama is $19.99.

After the $5 coupon though, it only cost me 22 at amazon.ca, so I'm not going to cancel my order over $2

I wish it wasn't just "first" season sets..I'm missing 2nd (and beyond, I guess like most people) ..I'd pick up Dark Angel, but they're pan&scan, unlike the europe discs (which are anamorphic widescreen) ..poo on fox....ah well ...good deals none the less

I bought X-Files seasons 2,3,4 (I believe it was 2-4, at least two of those three) and they appear to be exactly the same as american releases..

Check your past e-mails. Some of us got an e-mail from Amazon.ca back on June 30th with a $5gc to celebrate their ??? anniversary. I just tried mine (thinking that it was probably expired), but it worked! Helps take some of the sting off the shipping charges!

None of these Fox titles have bilibgual covers.

Also to Canadians: NYPD Blue season 1 has finally showed up on the Futureshop website: $19.99 CDN and in stock.

Bought Firefly today at Future Shop.

A few weeks ago when the sale originally started I picked up Futurama V1, Simpsons S1, Son of the Beach and King of the Hill.

Contemplating Dark Angel S1... but I know if I buy it, I'll wanna buy season 2, which I don't want to spent $50+ on.

Thanks for the info. I just picked up Futurama V1 and Simpsons S1 for CDN$59.45, or US$45.35. That's about ten bucks cheaper than the best online shipped price I could find (Digital Eyes = US$55.96). Gotta love a 50% off sale and a $5 coupon to boot!

I'm about to order "Firefly", but I'm hesitating because I didn't like Buffy or Angel.

I'm into darker stuff like Nip/Tuck, The Shield, Lexx and Six Feet Under, so will I enjoy firefly?

Well Angel is actually gets very dark as the seasons progress. Firefly also has it's dark moments.

But at $27, I don't see how you can go wrong with Firefly. Just look at the reviews for it on amazon.com.
