Mystic River 3 disc $20.99

I didn't know the msrp on this had dropped so significantly. Saw it at Best Buy for a buck more than the reg. version. Not sure how they plan to get rid of them now.

This could just be one of the mis-labeled discs from the release date. BB mis-marked their 3-discers 20.99 in stead of 29.99, but quickly caught their error and re-labeled them. This one may have slipped through the cracks. There hasn't been an MSRP drp yet.

Target has them at price cut for $23.99. All of the copes I saw at Best Buy were definitely priced at $20.99. I didn't verify this price at the counter, though.

MSRP at amazon is listed at 30.98, so expect all stores to have lowered prices.

That's how they were stickered at BB (in error) when they first came out. I know, I bought one.

So it sounds like a price drop. Seems pretty fast for one. If this keeps up we might be better off waiting two months....

I think what is happening, is that the retailers are sick of the "big boxes" taking up the room, such as the Spiderman box and Schindler's. In fact Shindler's List started this "new" sales technique; whereas if the deluxe editions that take up so much room do not sell out in 30-45 days, drop the MSRP. The Schindler's box came out on sale for $60 to $70 and nobody bought them, BB had tons of them taking up all this room, and Universal dropped the price and a lot of us got them for less than $25 like I did. Box sets are not popular if folks don't have room, although the Mystic is not that big, but who wants to pay $35 for a third disc of Clint Eastwood music????
So, if you want the Showgirls box, wait until BB or CC starts blowing them out in October for $19.

seems about right to me, wingfan. No need to wait until Oct. for Showgirls, though. It's already been on sale for $19.99 at Fry's and at dvd planet.

There are amazon marketplace sellers with new MR 3-discs for $19 + $2.49 shipping - so the price is the same as amazon, but you don't have to buy something small to go over $25 and get free shipping.

I have had very good results with marketplace sellers. There were some with Showgirls VIP under $20 when it was released, but the lowest now is $24.
