Anyone know when the next Movie Gallery Buy 2 get 2 Free sale might be?

I was looking around my loval MG and noticed they are pretty stocked and with the 4th of July coming up I thought they might have a sale coming in a few weeks, anyone heard any rumblings?

I have not heard a thing, but the pattern over the last year or so has to have it at the end of each quarter so that would put it in the next couple of weeks.

That is most excellent. Movie Gallery has the best discs in terms of using the original case and having inserts..

and always ends up being the best deal..Usually 4 for 25-30 dollars..compared to HWV which was 3 for25$

I hope this thread gets bumped when it happens.

I know that HWV is going to be pulling ROTK, Big Fish amongst others..

Anyone know when MG pulls their movies?

At the end of the last sale people were reporting that the next one would be at the end of June (probably the last week of) heading into the 4th of July. I'd recommend checking back with your store just in case because everyone was saying the last sale would start on a Sunday and wound up actually starting two days earlier.
In regards to how and when movies are pulled it is decided on a store by store basis. It's supposedly based on the popularity of a title at a particular location. Certain stores may not need more copies because the demand isn't there for rentals so they put them out. Other stores might be renting alot of copies so they don't have them available for sale right away. Also, movies are generally pulled on Mondays but it takes certain stores longer to get them switched in the system from rentals to pre-viewed sale copies so you might find titles at stores earlier than others because they won't get put out until later in the week.
In case anyone is wondering I don't actually work for MG, I've just become a big fan of the sale since the started it last August with the "Buy 2, Get 2." All the information I've listed has come from employees working there and my own presonal experiences.

I asked today, and the manager said Monday the 21 was when the vhs were going on sale, but the dvds never go on sale. That was the same answer I got before the last B2G2 sale on dvds, so I figure around then some time. Last time, it started the Friday before, which would be, as someone above said, the 18th…

My friend stopped by a local MG today and was told the sale will start the 23rd and run for two weeks. I'm a little leary of this because they've always started on Mondays and actually bumped it up to the Friday before (as I mentioned in my other post).
For those interested I scoped out a few titles on hand with prices so you know what to expect if you're trying to get any of these. My place had Last Samurai, Love Actually, In America, Big Fish, Something's Got to Give, Matchstick Men, Radio, The Rundown, & The Fog of War all for $14.99. They also had several copies of Master & Commander: The Far Side of the World for $9.99. They had several others that I won't list that were available during other sales. I don't remember seeing any of the titles I listed before. Good luck and happy hunting!

I'm going on vacation this Saturday morning so I'm going to miss the beginning of this sale, so yesterday when I was at MG, I went ahead and took advantage of the usual Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale (which is still a pretty good deal). The three titles I had been waiting for were all in stock (Last Samurai, Fog of War, In America) so I figured what the heck, and picked them up at $10 a pop. Good enough for me.

Where do you hide them where others can't find them? Or do you just mean you put them behind some other films and things like that. I mean you aren't taking them and putting them inside the candy rack or anything are you? haha

I stopped by a location yesterday and asked an employee if she knew when the sale started. She confirmed that it starts on the 18th (Friday). Hopefully she was right, but it's what we've been assuming all along, so its probably true. Also, they had Miracle ($14.99) in case anybody is looking for it.

Nice..I was looking for miracle AND big fish.

No I hide them behind movies that I dont think people would want to rent (obscure titles).

I checked out one of the 50 stores in my area (well, almost, seems like they are everywhere around where I am) and could not find 4 I wanted. I was surprised to see Ginger Snaps 2 already out for sale for $14.99. I was going to get GS 2 and Last Samurai but couldn't find anything else. I will probably wait until next week to see what they pull.

That's just it, there aren't any must-have's right now. It's one of those deals where I would know it if I saw it, but nothing stands out in my head. Know what I mean? I browse for things that jump out. Nothing jumped out today but GS 2 & Last Samurai.

Got a date tonight but how late is MG open? I might have to run by there afterwards to try n get Big Fish and a few other titles. Last time I went they were out of a few of the more popular ones.

The one near me is open pretty late, like 10pm during the week and 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
