Re: DC Comics to relaunch everything with #1s in June 2016

So far so good. I get all the Rebirth titles thanks to a DCBS bundle.

Detective is amazing. Great team dynamic with Batman & Batwoman.

Teen Titans is great so far with Robin in the lead.

Justice League started off meh, but the last 2 fear issues were great.

Superman is good, despite some complicated story lines going on.

Both Green Lantern books are must read. Hal Jordans title is going for broke, and the Simon/Jessica book has some good character moments.

Aquaman feels like Johns early 52 run, while still added to the mythology.

Green Arrow has beena great back to basics with Black canary.

Rucka on Wonder Woman is a blast, as long as you can keep up wit the shifting storylines. His Year One is amazing.

Suicide Squad has been a dud for me. Jim Lee is doing the art, but it looks very rushed, and main story is only have the book, with the other half character backups.

Harley solo book is way off the rails, but if youve read this long, you expect it.

Other stuff I get and just flip thru has been Hellblazer, Blue Beetle, New Superman and a few others.

I'd agree with most of Stinger's list.

So I see that the books that only ship once a month are going up to 3.99 in April. Ugh.

Yeah. Looks like the DC slip is starting early.

"Along with the price increase, DC will offer download codes for a matching digital copy in the affected comic books, also starting in April, as announced via press release."

Well, OK. I'm usually able to sell the Marvel digital codes for about $1 each. So it's not completely horrible.

Edit: Blah. I didn't realize Marvel is discontinuing bundled digital codes.

I'll likely buy all your DC codes if you want.

It's funny that they're starting this up while Marvel is doing the opposite. I'm sure this was preplanned and not related but they could really go for the jugular keeping things cheaper than Marvel after Marvel made their dumb change. Instead it may result in me dropping titles from both companies.

DCBS bundles are still cheap, so whatever.

In a move that's pretty cool for consumers but I'm sure will get comic stores upset, Those 3.99 DC books will be 2.99 digitally, since they say the extra dollar is for the digital copy.

Thus it begins. The major companies have been holding off from undercutting standard comic book pricing on digital comics, lest it alienate their retail partners.

Oh well, it was a good run while it lasted. I'm not sure comic books as we know them will survive until their centennial anniversary.

And Marvel's walked back their horrible decision. I didn't know that until I got my first issue today with same-issue digital copy.

Yeah, they backtracked a while ago, but there's still a gaping hole in my digital collection that helped me once again jump ship off of monthlies. Good job, Marvel.

Red Hood and the Outlaws is a really fun read if you are looking for something outside of the bigger DC names. Jason Todd, Artemis and Bizarro are a team of sorts and they don't have to deal with all the baggage that comes from the tighter continuity of the Superman and Batman comics. It's one of the better titles to come out of Rebirth.

So any strong recommendations for the rebirth titles? The only ones I followed were:
Titans: can't really recommend this unless you're a huge Titans fan
Supersons: at least the first arc was pretty fun
Batgirl: not the same

I'm thinking of picking up a bunch of Superman, WW and Batman, maybe Batman Eternal in the comixology sale.

Aquaman has had beautiful art in the Rebirth era. I've never really been a huge Aquaman fan but the art has been some of the strongest of any Rebirth title.

I wish I could recommend the Flash but it's been middle-of-the-road superhero fare so far.

Ah I forgot they recently put Stjepan Sejic on Aquaman, I'll check it out, though I'm not even caught up with new52 aquaman yet.

Batman, Detective, and Action are my favorite Rebirth titles currently.

Hmm... now I'm curious, what's the difference between what's going on in Action and what's going on in Superman? Is it just personal preference, stingermck?

I've also heard Priest's Deathstroke run is good.

I know one thing, avoid the Justice League book. It's been mediocre most of Rebirth.

Action has more stuff with Lex, and Superman has more family stuff. Both are good, but Action gets the edge.

Justice League is awful. Luckily Hitch is leaving soon and Priest taking over.

I've enjoyed both Super books. I am a big fan of Clark and Lois having a young son around. It's been handled about as well as one could expect.

You guys were too late, I already bought Justice League and JLA rebirth. Oh well. But I also bought all of action and supes and the bridge trade with old supes in the new 52 universe hiding out with his family. I'm so backlogged on new 52 Aquaman and Flash that I didn't bother with them this time around. Also got Deathstroke, Omega Men, and a few others.

I like most of the rebirth stuff I've read, but agree the JL has been a bit weak. I'm mainly just doing hoopla to try to read everything, buying a bit less.

DC officially ends the Rebirth branding on their comic book covers in December.

I'm doing so also, but I find I'm getting burnt out on most of the books. I find the "Superman" books to be the most satisfying. My major complaint with most of them (Superman, too) is the constant change of artists, particularly when the styles don't mesh (one who's more traditional followed by one who is very "anime").
