It was that graphic novel I was thinking about when I brought it up.

Quite. With all the angst and self-doubt that is part and parcel of the character predicated on his keeping his identity secret to protect his friends and family... removing (essentially) his only family member is too important to the character not to undo.

It's the same 'problem'* as having him marry MJ. He is no longer the same loner, loser and full of self-doubt if he's married to a supermodel!


*Where the problem is basically created by companies and people wanting characters not to evolve or change...
