Re: What's the last comic (single issue) you bought?
I forgot about this thread. I bought a ton of stuff at SDCC. Lot of Bronze Age with a few modern exclusives. Between SDCC, WonderCon, a few local shows and my weekly haul, I have bought so many comics recently that I actually have to hold off on new purchases and focus on getting more boxes, bags and boards to keep up. My Comic Room is a mess right now and I need to get everything re-organized.

I picked up:
Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight issues #1-5 (the Shaman arc). I always wanted to get the trade of this but haven't been able to find it or when it pops up on eBay it always gets fairly pricey and saw these at a local place.

Re: What's the last comic (single issue) you bought?
Found this in a .50¢ bin today - Red Sonja #1!
The guy at the booth looked surprised and asked "Did you really find that in the fifty-centers?" I said yeah and showed him that he had a bunch of early Red Sonja, Justice League of America and Conan books hidden throughout the bins. He smiled and said "That was a good find."
Also picked up a bunch of Ultraverse first issues because I was feeling nostalgic for the 90s. I grabbed Hulk: Raging Thunder as well but when I got home, I realized I already owned a copy (!!). I hate when I do that!

Re: What's the last comic (single issue) you bought?
Hey fujishig. Sorry. I just saw this post. I assume you were talking to me?
The store is called P Dot's Comics & Collectibles. It's on Lake Ave.
Address - 1505 N Lake Ave, Pasadena, CA
Since my post, I've seen them at a couple of conventions. Picked up some more stuff. They have a pretty good selection ranging from the late Silver Age to now. Some of the "well-read" books are priced around the $2 to $5 range. Higher grades get more expensive. Their wall has some stuff that are still priced like we're in the 90s. So there's both ends of the spectrum.
Owners are really nice. Got into a long conversation about Marvel films when I was last there.

Re: What's the last comic (single issue) you bought?
I picked these up the other day from the comic store. I rarely go to any comic stores but decided to and found these. Luckily, all the back issues were 50% off or more. I'm a sucker for anything Legion and I already had these but they were all VF+ and I just couldn't pass them up; $3-$4 each was a good deal for me.

Fatale by Ed Brubaker. It's like a haunting tour through history, weaving in everything from murderous cults to 70's Hollywood sleaze to long-buried family secrets that threaten to destroy the present. A bit dark, yes, but made for an interesting read.

Re: What's the last comic (single issue) you bought?
Hit the antique malls in Orange County this weekend. Comic-wise, not much that I'd want to spend crazy money on. But one store had a table full of random stuff and sitting there was a Peter Pan Super Adventures comic/record with Spider-Man. And the record was still with it!
Whenever I see these at conventions or at other antique stores, there's never a record. The comic was in pretty good shape too. I would have preferred the Power Records version but for $5 bucks... couldn't resist.

I am surprised those kind of album-comic book combinations died out, they had mostly disappeared by the 1980s. I loved the few Power Records I came across as a kid. In our iTunes world, I would think they add a necessary ingredient to get kids interested again in reading comics. If you could get a star from the movies to narrate or something, that could be the hook.

Bought this for $2 today - Ms. Marvel #1. The cover/back is in pretty terrible shape - Detached from the comic and well worn. But it was two bucks so why not?

Bought a ton of stuff at SDCC this weekend. These three issues rank as some of my favorite purchases. They feature a three-part Angel story written by Superman's Co-Creator Jerry Siegel.

I often think that I should go to a big con someday, but think I'd be overwhelmed.

I picked these up right before going to SDCC. The Wolverine mini-series from 1982. Pretty good copies of each issue for a total of $75.
