Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I almost went all in on the Uncanny X-men sale but it turns out half (19) are incomplete parts of a multi-title crossover between X-cutioner's Song, Phalanx Convenant, Fatal Attractions, X-men/Avengers: Bloodties.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I love that all of the Uncanny X-Men sales that Comixology has been having in the last 6 months or so are all sequential. Each new sale starts right where the last one ends.

I've been picking them up, and now I have the whole run from #94-321

...I can't help it, I grew up on these. X-Men (Up to the mid-late 90's) is my weakness.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Had a real bad experience at Comixology. My brother owed me $500, so when it was time to pay me back I told him to instead set up a new account and use the FB code and I gave him a list of a thousand dollars worth of stuff I wanted digitally. He sat there for an hour and placed the order gifting me the comics, but when I received the link it wouldn't work. Days go by and countless emails and they couldn't fix it. They just said that the order was too large. I finally gave up and had them refund the money to him. They were nice enough in the emails, but they didn't throw a coupon or apology my way. I have spent thousands on the site this past year so I think they could have done something for me for good will.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I think I've bought almost all those X-Men, and I wasn't even that big of a fan back in the day.

A little late, but the DH weekend sale is on The Goon.

No kidding, they have frequent sales but I can't tell if that ends up saving me money or making me spend more than I'd normally would.

That's unfortunate, at least they got you a refund. Half off everything seems like something that would be too good to be true; I wonder if even smaller gift orders would cause problems.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

What an odd sale, an entire banner for one collection lasting a few weeks. I thought for sure they would add more issues by this morning.

Also, since they're forcing me to check the webpage sales page (because the app doesn't allow in-app purchases anymore), I'd prefer it if they separated out the French stuff by region or something.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Check your email, I just got a buy one comic, get one comic free code from Comixology. It's unique, otherwise I would share it. It doesn't say if sale items are included or excluded, or if it works on collections. I may have to just add a few things to my cart and check.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I just tried it with two of the Darkness collections and it gave me one free. So it seems to work for sale items and for things other than just single issues.

No coupons here. I'd curious what triggers those.

They sent me a survey the other day. Any of you? Maybe it was keyed to that? I didn't take it.

The Archie Humble Bundle expires in a few hours. They added a bunch of books to the BTA tier, including a couple 1000 pagers iirc.

New book bundle should be up after Archie dies.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Yep, Spawn is finally available digitally. I think I'll try giving it a shot (I couldn't really get into the book when it started, and I never tried again since). I'll only pick up an issue or two here and there though. I'm not committing to a bundle, surprisingly.

I actually got around to reading Star Wars #1 last night. I know I was bitching about how long it would be before I read it, because of the price, but I got a physical copy in last month's lootcrate (which came with a download code).
I really liked it. There wasn't a lot going on, being it's just the introductory issue, but it just felt right for a Star Wars comic. There was a lot of the fun and charm that the original trilogy had. Jason Aaron (for the most part) nails the character's voices and John Cassaday's art is beautiful.
I might have to break my rule and by this series on release day.
...then again...$4 an issue.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Super bummed I didn't get one of those BOGO coupons. I've been waiting for a sale so that I can finally get Sandman and Fables on a digital format. I've purchased Sandman and Fables each TWICE in analog, I'm just not up for paying full price in digital.

If I end up with one of those codes I guess I'll get Spawn for $99 complete.
