Unless I'm Misunderstanding what you're suggesting, they do this already. In the new app there's and "in cloud" tab. When you click it you see all your purchases and can download them.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

7 new freebies today, none from Saturday's FCBD offerings.

Two new sales from DC. I'm not sure of the duration (Edit to add: thru 5/12), but they have the Batman: Batman and Son (Deluxe Edition) collection on sale for $5.99. It collects 15 early issues from Grant Morrison's Batman run, 655-658, 663-669, and 672-675; previously collected in Batman and Son and Batman: The Black Glove.

A week long Doomsday sale begins. The 11 issues of The Death of Superman storyline, 8 issues of Funeral for a Friend storyline, 22 issues of Reign of Supermen storyline, 3 issue Superman/Doomsday: Hunter/Prey mini, the 3 issue Superman: The Doomsday Wars mini, and 10 issues of Reign of Doomsday storyline. Edit to add: and now they have added the recent Superman/Batman 3.1 to the sale.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Anyone else have trouble downloading from the cloud during after work hours? It can take hours to download a dozen comics for me. If I am up at 5 in the morning for work, i do it then and it is 60 seconds.

I've never noticed a problem downloading with either app. I'm sure I download at all sorts of hours, but can't be specific. Just downloaded the Batman and Son collection and it was mere seconds.

Where do you find the new freebies these days? When I got to the free comics section of the site, I just see the recommended freebies section.

Yep, that's all they have separated out most days. Occasionally they have other subsections in that section, or separate tabs. Also, I imagine one could search for specific titles and find some of the hundreds of freebies they've had and likely still have.

That section you refer to has been at 58 books for awhile now, but today it is only at 52, with 7 of them being brand new.

Oh, and from their sale email I see that the Batman and Son collection is on sale until the 12th. I bought it, think it'll be my first Morrison Bats.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

I just did some logged-out-of-my-account digging and see that Comixology apparently changes up their freebies from time to time. Perhaps it's a new Amazon thing? I'm not sure, as I was always logged in previously, grabbing every freebie I could, and never looked into it before.

But even Walking Dead #1 isn't free right now, and it's been headlining that 'recommended freebie' section for as long as I can remember. Checking a few other Image titles, no #1s are showing free, but are discounted to 99 cents. So good job if you got in on the 142 free Image freebies on Saturday, because perhaps they aren't coming back. But then, all 142 were free at some point before that day...

Also, the 137 weekly issues of the DC free preview book Sneak Peeks are apparently gone from the store now. They haven't made a new one in months. They are still in my purchases tab (sorry, cloud tab); but no longer show up in store searches.

So I'm just avoiding real work and rambling, but I guess the moral is to grab sales and freebies ASAP, because one never knows when they'll get re-priced or even pulled from the store. But so far, afaik, no titles have ever been deleted from one's purchase history.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

So this is new (to me at least); Comixology just added a book to the Doomsday sale, Superman/Batman 3.1, making it 59 total single issues.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Looks like no new sales, freebies, or bundles at Comixology today.

Three new freebies at Dark Horse; their two 2014 FCBD books and the Hellboy 20th Anniversary Sampler.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Today brings us three new sales, four new bundles therein, no new freebies.

Ending 5/12, a Classics Illustrated sale.

55 various issues from 1 to 171, $1.99 each, or all in a bundle for $74.99. And 51 issues of Classics Illustrated Junior, various issues numbered 501 to 588, $.99 each or bundled for $34.99. I'm tempted to buy a couple for nostalgia, I think I had one or two as a kid.

From Marvel a one day sale on Scarlet Spider and Minimum Carnage.

Issues 1-25 and 12.1 of Scarlet Spider, Minimum Carnage: Alpha, Minimum Carnage: Omega, and Venom vol 2 26-27.

From Dynamite a one day Pulp sale.

Codename: Action 1-5, or bundled for $3.99.
The Spider 1-6, or in a collection with bonus material for $4.99
The Shadow/Green Hornet: Dark Nights 1-5
The Shadow: Year One 1-8 (of 10)
The Shadow Now 1-5 (of 6)
The Shadow Masters Series 1-5
The Shadow 1-6 (2012 ongoing), or in vol 1 collection with issue 1 script for $5.99
The Owl 1-4
The Last Phantom 1-12, or in two collections for $4.99 each
The Black Bat 1-9
Peter Cannon: Thunderbolt 1-10, or bundled for $4.99
Noir 1-5
Miss Fury 1-9, vol 1 collection of 1-6 for $4.99
Miss Fury Digital 1-2
Masks 1-8, or collected for slightly more, $7.99
King's Watch 1-5
Doc Savage 1-4 (2013 ongoing)
The Shadow 1941: Hitler's Astrologer - the old Marvel O'Neil/Kaluta graphic novel for $6.99

A fourth new sale almost snuck by me. Three of the Castle collections/adaptations from Marvel are on sale for $4.99 each. I've never sampled these; any good, true to the show/novels?

Sorry if this was already noted, but they added Saga Vol 2, The Manhattan Projects Vol 1, and Invincible Vol 1 to the beat the average level (~$10) of the Humble bundle.

4 days to go:

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Another Dark Horse sale just popped up, this time on their 2014 Eisner nominees; 41 books for ~50% off, unknown duration.

47 Ronin 1-5
The Adventures of Superhero Girl
Bad Houses
Baltimore: The Infernal Train 1-3
The Black Beetle: No Way Out 1-4
Colder 1-5
The Creep 0-4
Dark Horse Presents 30-34
The Fifth Beatle Preview
The Fifth Beatle: The Brian Epstein Story
Itty Bitty Hellboy 1-5
The Massive 1-5

Some really great stories in there. I'm beginning to think that Dark Horse might be my favorite publisher.

Weird that they have another sale so close to their last one (which with the code was better and on everything). But if this is an indicator that they'll have more sales, I'm all for it!

I've been a huge fan of Dark Horse from their very beginnings. Concrete is a gem; they tend to license my favorite film series (Aliens, Predator, Terminator); and their anthology books regularly present great new series or new stories of old favorites like Nexus and Mr. Monster.

But I have this messed up save-the-best-for-last thing, so I've barely read must of their last decade plus of output. But the few things I've sampled before buying lately have been stellar, most recently Colder, part of this new sale. So I'm very excited to start catching up on my Dark Horse library.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

One new sale today at Comixology, a Brian Michael Bendis sale that ends 5/12.

Scarlet 1-5
Brilliant 1-4

Fortune and Glory collection $9.99
Goldfish collection $4.99
Jinx collection $12.99
Takio collection $4.99
Torso collection $4.99

Those five collections can be bought in a bundle for $29.99 too.

I like his mainstream work, but don't think I've tried any of these indy series. Any recommendations?

Torso is great, about Elliott Ness dealing with a serial killer in Cleveland in his post-Untouchables career.

I've sampled a couple singles of Brilliant, it's decent but hasn't completely hooked me yet; and Scarlet, which is excellent.

Nothing new today so far.

This may have been posted before but I did a search and didn't find it. Anyway, I was reading the new issue of Comic Heroes and they have an ad in it that gives you the first 4 issues of Unity by Valiant Comics.

Go to www.comixology.com/redeem
Log in
Enter the code: GETUNITY
Poof - first four issues are yours!

Offer expires 7-31-14

I think I've read one of the Castle volumes and one Derek Storm. They're fun if you watch the show.

Re: Digital Comic Book Discussion and Deals (Comixology, etc)

Today's Marvel Monday is a bunch of Warren Ellis books. They have bundled them, 74 books for $70, but nine of them have been free before so the bundle may be more expensive for most of us.

Astonishing X-Men: Xenogenesis 1-5
Nextwave: Agents of Hate 1-12
Ultimate Nightmare 1-5
Ultimate Secret 1-4
Ultimate Extinction 1-5
Ultimate Human 1-4
Ultimate Comics Armor Wars 1-4
Secret Avengers 16-21
Thunderbolts 110-121
Iron Man vol 4, 1-6

Man, I haven't bought anything since the amazon/ios purchasing change. And not out of protest, either, I used to check the app daily for sales and now it just slips my mind.
