Starman Omnibus Volume 1 or Kirkland's Invicible Volume 1

Looking for some advice because I am being very indecisive tonight. I want to order a new hardcover Volume 1 book and I am thinking of either getting Starman Volume 1 or Robert Kirkland's Invicible Volume 1.

I know absolutely nothing about Starman, just interested in it because of its reputation as an smart entertaining book. Invicible, I have read the first trade and thought it was good but not great, but I have also heard that it gets much better after that. So opinions anyone.

I have read the first trade of Invicible and liked it OK, but wasn't hooked. I have heard that it really picks up after that point however. Did you feel that way as well? Thanks!

Two very different type of stories, not fair to compare the two. I'm fans of both, but hands down, I would go with Invincible. Starman is more of the comic book-purists comic. Invincible is much more fun & accessible & you have to stick to it. It grows & goes in directions you couldn't possibly imagine when you first start the series.

Having read them both, Starman in the original single issue format and then in the TP, and Invincible in trade and HC, I'd go with Starman. It just seems like a richer experience, more of an adult feel then Invincible which is much more of an all gaes superhero book.
