Re: Comic Book Sheep is here!

Woot - too bad I am going to face an inevitable couple of rounds of ZERO when we hit some of the later questions. I was playing the game with my roommate last night (who has almost no comic knowledge) and her gut responses did not match mine at all. She would say batman where I say superman and vice versa - it was something of a disaster. Happy to hear it working out differently here.

Qestion 3: Name one of the original members of the Justice League of America

Ah, the Justice League. Look how brave they all are in their debut fighting ... a giant starfish!? Do you ever wonder exactly what kind of drugs were in the drinking water at DC Comics back then?

For the record, Starro the Conqueror has been back many times to menace the Justice League and other heroes. He is currently battling the R.E.B.E.L.S. in the title of the same name.

Re: Comic Book Sheep is here!

Question 3

Superman (12): Meatwad's Ghost, davidh777, fujishig, reverie, Rockmjd23, Nick Danger, dvdhook, brianaluvdvd, maxfisher, Bandit03, fumanstan, Hokeyboy, Lokimok

The Flash (6): JasonF, ivelostr2, Trevor, MBoyd, The Bus, Prepper

Batman (3): MHepburn20, Palaver, Mordred

The Green Lantern (2): dadaluholla, RKilgore

Wonder Woman (2): Captain Marvel, burnside986

Aquaman and/or the Martian Manhunter:Not a soul

A few years ago, DC decided to announce that Superman and Batman had not been part of the Justice League originally. We can see how well that one caught on.

I guess you should have answered Superman for every answer.

I'm doing a lot better then Movie Sheep. Clearly, JasonF is a better Sheepmaster.

oh no! Fail. How could all you people who put Superman for number 1 repeat your answer. Where's your sense of fairness to the other characters? You fools! Batman will surely kick your ass now.

Re: Comic Book Sheep is here!

Question 4: Other than Jack Kirby, name an artist associated with Marvel

Once again, we take Jack off the table, because let's face it -- Jack (and Stan) were and are Marvel.

John Romita Jr. was the first artist whose picture came up when I Googled "Marvel Artists." Is Google's image search in tune with the Sheep Contestants?

Re: Comic Book Sheep is here!

Question 4

Google's image search is not in tune with our contestants. Well, except for fujishig. Sorry, fujishig!

Steve "I co-created Spider-Man and Doctor Strange" Ditko (11): JasonF, Meatwad's Ghost, dadaluholla, davidh777, Trevor, Nick Danger, dvdhook, RKilgore, Mordred, Prepper, Hokeyboy
John "I took over Spider-Man when Ditko left" Romita (3): MHepburn20, MBoyd, fumanstan
Stan "I'm not actually an artist, but I wrote everything for the first half-decade of Marvel's existence" Lee (3): The Bus, Palaver, Bandit03
Todd "I was the Spider-Man artist before I left to found Image" McFarlane (2): CaptainMarvel, brianluvdvd
John "You may remember me from such books as the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and She-Hulk" Byrne(0) : ivelostr2
John "I'm a chip off my dad's block in the kick-ass art department" Romita, Jr. (0): fujishig
Mark "Did you know that I won the Marvel Try-Out Contest in the 80s?" Bagley (0): reverie
Joe "I never actually worked for Marvel, but I did co-create Superman" Shuster (0): Rockmjd23
Rob "I was in a Levi's commercial" Liefeld (0): maxfisher
John "I had two different superstar runs on the Avengers, not to mention Conan" Buscema (0): Lokimok
Jim "My run on S.H.I.E.L.D. is the stuff of legends" Steranko: Burnside 986

This is our first question where there may be some controversy. Doe JRjr count the same as John Romita? I say no, and since fujishig specified jr. when nobody else did, I counted his answer separately. Agree? Disagree?

Two completely separate people... and professionally, John Romita and John Romita Jr. have both had long, established careers at Marvel to carve out their own identities.

Re: Comic Book Sheep is here!

They're definitely separate, I put in John Romita thinking of Sr. specifically.

I too put in John Romita thinking Senior. They have certainly had different careers, but I also would have thought more would put in jrjr.

Since everyone agrees that the two John Romitas are not the same, they will be counted as separate answers
