Great prices on a couple new Absolute's, there are some DC Archives, a Tales of the Batman, a lot of Farscape, etc.

I ordered COVER STORY: The DC Comics Art of Brian Bolland HC, and that just arrived looking great, in it's original shrinkwrap. Also ordered INFINITY INC., VOLUME ONE: The Generations Saga HC. Unlike previous batches of DC books this one was not shrinked (though it may never have been?). The condition seemed pretty good, though some cover wear/light scuffing was obvious. No remainder signs though.

Plus that Infinity Inc. and a couple others.
My Marvel books each had an ink dot on the top or bottom of the pages, while the DCs did not. I saw no other remainder marks such as UPC slashing. None had shrink, but I don't think any of these had them originally because they were relatively inexpensive books. The highest list price was Amanda Conner, and I was able to flip through that one in my LCS.

Really nice deal on the Farscape books, you can almost get the complete run. I don't love the art, but I think the stories worked really well.

Thanks very much for the feedback. Sounds like it went well.

Yeah, I agree. Unfortunately for me I picked up all of the runs as single issues, except for the final TPB, which I bought already. But these are definitely a good way for others to checkout, or fill in their collections of, Farscape.

Meanwhile, InStockTrades is having a small sale on 50-70% off 136 Marvel books: http://www.instocktrades.com/specials/109/Marvel+Sale

Also, most Marvel & DC are 45% off, and I saw lots of others, like Image and Dark Horse, at 42%. Nothing earth-shattering, but for people who were thinking of placing an order then it might be a decent time.

For Prime Day, "enter 20PRIME at checkout under the 'Gift cards & promotional codes' section to receive 20% off any one book, with a maximum discount of $10." Works for TPB, as usual.

Sweet, I used the code and the audible credit to get the new Saga collection for free.

Wish I had known about this yesterday. Would have been used on something on my incredibly long wantlist.

It was a weird promotion running from 6 p.m. to midnight Pacific time. I'm sure I would've missed it if TheBang hadn't posted it.

Very weird. 9 PM to 3 AM eastern I rarely surf the boards during those hours. Thanks to TheBang for posting it though. I would think that with the amount of hype around "Prime Day" that Amazon would have advertised a sale like that a little better.

My guess is that they threw it together at the last minute to try to squeeze a little more juice out of the orange that was already dry.

Barnes & Noble has a buy 2 get 1 free promo on DC graphic novels. Any recommendations?

B&N is having B2G1 on Marvel graphic novels, and there's also a 16% off order of $50 or more coupon you can stack with it (BNRIO2016). Note that you can do multiple deals in one order, ie if you have 6 in your cart you will get 2 free.

Checked it out. There are a decent number of hardcover, heavy books included in the deal. Seems like all three of the Star Wars Marvel omnibus are included.

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

I used it to order the Darth Vader and Star Wars OHCs (I was surprised the SW one was part of the B2G1 since it's a pre-order) and one of the Spider-Man epics I didn't have yet. I was thinking about placing a bigger order, but I could only find 5 things in the same price range that I wanted.

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

InStockTrades has had 45% off on all DC & Image books, so I placed an order earlier today, and about 20 minutes ago got a special e-mail about tomorrow being a "One-Day Loyalty Discount" sale day for people who've "placed an order with us within the last 14 days", with an extra 3% off all items, for everything purchased Saturday.

An extra 3% is not a lot, but it's something. I don't know if it's too late for others to get in on it, maybe if you order today then you'll still get the e-mail, but I thought I'd mention it.

Yeah, I got the e-mail as well. I'm a light but fairly steady customer, buying the majority of my new releases there every few weeks. I assume the timing is intended to pull some attention away from the Batman Day digital sales.

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

I got the email as well from Instock. My dreams of being a special snowflake are over.

Their sales gimmick did work in my case. Titans Hunt for $9. Yeah, I can get behind that pricing.

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

I used the discount on a couple Dark Horse Manara books I've been meaning to get. They rarely go on sale and are sometimes out of stock on Amazon. The first one is coming out in paperback next March, but I'm not sure I would want that over the hardback anyway.

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

I bought a few DC books to plug some gaps in addition to a couple of the weekly deals. I almost went overboard on DC books, but the extra 1% discount compared to the often available combo of 45% off Marvel/DC/Image + 2% off additional for a prior purchase wasn't worth draining the bank account over.
