Darn you. I resisted until you posted that. Hopefully I'll just read it once and then pass it on.

I'm just glad that IST has stopped running those big sales. I can tend to resist weekly releases.
It wasn't showing up at that price for me yesterday, but now it is.

Hmm...

*Goes to Amazon page, still doesn't see it, figures Trevor has mysterious bargain-finding powers OR that Amazon shows Trevor special deals knowing he can't resist them*

*Clicks over to Used tab and scrolls down a bit, SEES OFFER*

*Shakes fist at Trevor*

*Pauses a moment to talk to Trevor's wife*

*Joins Trevor's wife in shaking fists at Trevor*

I think she'll do more than shake it when the 7 pound box arrives.

I'm seriously started to fear that my third floor comic book room is going to crash into the second floor someday.

I could have your entire family hating me if I posted every deal I came across. The Age of Ultron hardcover omnibus is also pretty cheap right now.

Fulfilled by Amazon, a third-party seller with good feedback is selling the 800-page Marvel Now Omnibus for $14.28. Multiple copies are available.
I got this in the mail by Amazon Prime today. It was a mint, sealed new copy with a tiny marker spot signifying it as overstock. Copies are still available.

Damn you, I've been so good lately at avoiding stuff like this, but had to bite. Thanks for the heads up.

I had decided to resist when Trevor started talking about storage, but then PS pushed me over the hump.

I got a CD at the same time and it cost more than the 80-pound book.

I've been tempted at the John Carter omnibus for ~$20 for a while now, any of you guys read that one?

I own the Carter omnibus!

I haven't read it.

I am a Carter fan and have the Weird Worlds TPB, but that's DC material. I'm sure I'll read it someday and enjoy it.

Man, there's a lot of Gil Kane in those pics.

Maybe when I finish the Marvel Omnibus in 2036, I'll give the Weird Worlds stuff a go.
Weird Worlds is a slim volume so if you do pick it up, it's not a huge time investment. I was actually introduced to the character by the Murphy Anderson version (included in the WW TPB), which was a filler story in some floppy I read long ago (probably Tarzan).

The TPB is a mixed bag, with an assortment of creative teams. Fun, but not essential.

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

Possibly a big price mistake that they may end up honoring, Amazon has a 640 page hardcover of the upcoming SpiderVerse on pre-order for $20.

I don't know what this is as there's no description or image of the item. But pre-ordering just the same. Release is 2015, so I have a lot of time to change my mind and cancel .. Thanks.

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

Just ordered the Spiderverse thing as well. The list price is $34.99 so if there is a problem, it's probably tied to that.

A number of Amazon misprices a couple years back is how I acquired the majority of my Omniboo/Absolutes.

As someone forever bitter about that Amazon glitch a few years back then I wish I could get in on it, but I swore off new Spider-Man tales long ago.

Seems intriguing though, good luck to everyone.

Oh, I'd forgotten about that HUGE one. I didn't get in on that either. I was just referring to stuff like the first Byrne FF and some others entering their catalog with the wrong list price.

Thanks, though I actually did get a little out of that, something like 5 items between Amazon and then B&N, less common stuff like a Boys Definitive HC and a Next Men Premiere Ed for about $15 each.

It's just that in those days I'd carefully check Amazon just after midnight literally every day, going through my hundreds of wish list items. I was doing that that morning, over halfway through, when I got a call from my mother, needing help, and by the time I got back then I just left the last few categories including gn's, because those hardly ever changed. *sigh*

So by the time I got on the computer the next afternoon then it was practically over. On one hand I got a few great deals, but I'l forever kick myself for not starting a few minutes sooner, finishing before going to help my mother, etc. I badly wanted a few hot items from that glitch, like the Secret Wars collection, and there was serious envy in seeing what some of those people who ordered dozens of volumes had gotten. So I try to look on the bright side, but I was sooo close.

Huh, I hadn't even heard about that, at least not that I can recall. Although I got lucky waiting on the 1st Byrne, and found it in a store for $50. I still need the 2nd though.

Re: Comic Book Bargains & Hot Deals

You got positive karma points, though.

And it's not like the Byrne FF was amazing--$60 on mispriced pre-order so you got a better deal anyway.

Thanks a lot! If you're right then I'm sure you got a positive point or two from reading all of that.

This is still alive, a day later.
