Post Your Weekly Comics Pull-List

Given how misguided and ugly the DC vs. Marvel thread is, I thought it'd be more interesting to see what people are actually subscribing to.

Here's my pull list:

DARK HORSE
1 Conan
2 Samurai Executioner

DC
3 Action Comics
4 Adam Strange
5 Adventures Of Superman
6 Astro City: The Dark Age
7 Birds Of Prey
8 Detective Comics
9 Flash
10 Green Arrow
11 Green Lantern: Rebirth
12 JLA
13 JLA: Classified
14 JSA
15 JSA: Strange Adventures
16 Legion Of Super-Heroes
17 Outsiders
18 Superman
19 Superman/Batman
20 Teen Titans
21 WE3

INDEPENDENTS
22 Wanted
23 Mark Millar's The Unfunnies
24 Wizard The Comics Magazine

MARVEL
25 Astonishing X-Men
26 New Avengers
27 Secret War
28 Spider-Man
29 Strange
30 Supreme Power
31 Ultimates Vol 2

I also read Ultimate Spider-Man and Fables in trades, and grab the occasional miniseries (IDENTITY CRISIS was amazing) and graphic novel (SHIMURA, out on Wednesday.)

I'm *this* close to dropping Strange. Supreme Power is the only real JMS comics work I've liked, and even then I'm not overly wild about it. New Avengers hasn't grabbed me, but I don't have the patience for Bendis titles outside of TPBs (and I hate his Daredevil.)

I'm mostly a DC guy. EVERY DC COMICS FAN SHOULD BE READING ADAM STRANGE RIGHT NOW. I cannot stress this enough. A great title that really feels like sci-fi DCU. And I'm totally enjoying the iconic mainstream DCU titles: Superman/Batman, Teen Titans, JSA, JLA, David Lapham's Detective Comics, the current Superman titles (even Action, although barely), Birds of Prey, and every single DC title Geoff Johns is handling.

It may not look it but I just recently dropped a lot of titles which is I rarely do b/c I am so far behind in reading stuff.

I'm not counting mini-series b/c they end (WE3 is only 3 issues, that shouldn't count) Here is what I subscribe to, just copy & pasted from my stores list + some comments added for here:

* = My favorites right now.

Action Comics
Adam Strange
Adventures of Superman
The Amazing Joy Buzzards
- Got an advance copy, everyone check this new on-going monthly out!
Army of Darkness - Close to dropping this.
*Astonishing X-men
The Authority
Batgirl
Batman
Batman: Gotham Knights
Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight
*Birds of Prey
Black Panther
- I've gotten every Panther series in the past, so might as well count this new series.
Blade of the Immortal - The only Manga I read.
Bloodhound - Might as well take this off as it will be cancelled soon.
B.P.R.D
Captain America
Captain America & The Falcon
Catwoman
*Conan
Daredevil
Darkstalkers
Detective Comics
Doc Frankenstein
Emma Frost
* Ex Machina
* Fables
* Fallen Angel
The Fantastic Four
- This is the best it's been in years.
* The Flash
* The Goon
* Gotham Central
- If everyone has to read 1 book, this should be it.
GReen Lantern
Hawkman
Hellblazer
Hellboy
- When it comes out.
Human Kind
The Intimates
* Invincible
Iron Man
- I don't like the new direction or artist at all.
JLA: Classified
* JSA

Kabuki
The Legion of Super-Heroes
- First issue of the new series is excellent.
Liberty Meadows
The Losers
Manhunter
Marvel Team-Up
- This series is a lot of fun so far, worth checking out.
Metal Hurlant
New Avengers
- Hate what was done with this book, but I've been getting this since I was 9.
New Thunderbolts
New X-men: Academy X
*Noble Causes - One of the most underrated & original comics being published.
*Planetary
Powers
* Queen & Country
* Runaways
Shaolin Cowboy
She-Hulk
* Sleeper
Solo
Spookshow International
Street Fighter
Superman
Superman/Batman
Supreme Power
Swamp Thing
*Teen Titans
Thor
Tom Strong
Trigger
- Great new series.
Ultimate Fantastic Four - Probably will drop once Ellis leaves.
Uncanny X-men
* Usagi Yojimbo
* The Walking Dead
Weird Western Tales of Terror
- A great new horror anthology.
Wolverine
Wonder Woman
X-men
303
- Not sure if this is a monthly or mini.

I also get 100 Bullets & Y The Last Man but in trade only.

Will definitely be adding once they come out:

Breach
Majestic
Seven Soldiers
- My most anticipated title of 2005
Young Avengers
DC All-Stars[/b]

I totally agree w/ you Matt about DC. I think the best superhero comic being published right now is The Flash & the most underrated is Wonder Woman.

DC COMICS:

JSA (!!!!!)
Planetary
Green Lantern: Rebirth (Great so far)
JLA Classified #2 (Til Morrison leaves. Might wait for the Trade when I Can't Believe It's Not the Justice League begins)
WE3
Legion of Super Heroes (MIGHT wait for the Trade for this one)

IMAGE:

Battle Hymn

PENNY FARTHING PRESS:

Captain Gravity and Power of Vril

MARVEL:

Fantastic Four (Til Waid leaves)
The Ultimates 2

Starting Next Year:

Seven Soldiers and related Mini-Series
VIMANARAMA!

Lately, I've been waiting for the Trades so my weekly comic budget has shifted so some weeks I spend nothing and the next I end up paying through the nose.

Big change from the mid 90s when I was spending near 50 a week.

If I can think of the few off the top of my head...

DC
-Nightwing
-Batgirl (which is starting to get tedious)

Marvel
-Hulk (which I'll drop after the current writer leaves)

Others
-Ghostbusters
-G.I. Joe
-Voltron

And whatever TPB I feel like picking up (last week was "Hush").

Hmm...let me think...

DC:
Superman (jumping off after Lee-Azzarello's run)
Birds of Prey
Adam Strange (mini)
GL: Rebirth (mini)
Wonder Woman (only in the $1 bins)
Teen Titans
Detective (for the Lapham run)
Fables
Y The Last Man

Marvel
4 (FF)
She-Hulk (done after #12, not sure if I'll return to vol. 2 in 2005)
Astonishing X-Men
Supreme Power
Iron Man (for the Adi Granov run)
Runaways (waiting for vol. 2)
Ultimates
Ultimate FF
Shana (upcoming Frank Cho book)

Indy
Strangers in Paradise
Stray Bullets
Queen and Country
Cavewoman
Liberty Meadows

ABC:
Terra Obscura
Tom Strong (probably done soon)
Promethea (done in a couple of issues)

Wildstorm
Planetary
Ex Machina

I'm grateful some of these titles are coming to an end, and others are just mini's. I'm going to try to get under 15 monthly titles in 2005.

Ok, not sure how much I'm going to forget, but here goes.

DC Comics

Action Comics
Superman
Adventures of Suerman
Superman/Batman
Batman
Detective Comics
Gotham Knights
Nightwing
Robin *
Batgirl *
JLA
JLA Classified
JSA
Outsiders
Teen Titans

Marvel
Ultimate Spider-Man
Ultimate X-Men
Ultimates
Ultimate Fantastic Four
New Avengers
Astonishing X-Men

I know that I'm missing a few, but that's all that I can think of now.

Re: Post Your Weekly Comics Pull-List

Sorry for the thread bump, but it was either that or make a new thread. I thought it would be interesting to see some pull lists from years past. Anyway, what is on your pull list currently?
I'm just getting back into actual floppies. I do most of my reading in trades, but I wanted to also read some current stuff and see what was out there now. So I added some new stuff to my pull list at my local comic shop. Some of it is new series, some are mini series, and some are things that have been around for a while.
Right now, my pull consists of:
All-Star Batman (2016-)
Cage! (2016-)
Dark Knight III: The Master Race (2015-)
G.I. Joe (2016)
Han Solo (2016)
He-Man/Thundercats (2016-)
Jessica Jones (2016-)
Optimus Prime
Star Wars: Doctor Aphra
Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye Revolution
Transformers: Till All Are One: Revolution
The Walking Dead

I'm sure some of that is shit and will be dropped pretty quick, but it's all stuff that I want to at least check out or enjoy reading.

So what's on your pull list

Re: Post Your Weekly Comics Pull-List

I don't even remember starting this thread... or half the books that were in my pull-list. And what was it with the "strange" titles? (Strange? JSA Strange Adventures? Adam Strange?)

The saddest reality is that I stopped reading comics regularly around 2011 (I gave NuDC a shot, and wish I hadn't...).

Funny to see me here too! I'm not out of comics by any means, but I haven't had a pull in years. I am picking up Serenity whenever they decide to put a new miniseries.

By biggest problem is finding out about the new titles before they actually hit the stores. I've had to play catch up on a couple of titles I was interested in because I didn't know they were coming out. I've been using pulllist.comixology.com to come up with my list of titles each week. I am curious how others find out about new titles and when stuff is coming out.

That is one of the sites I use as well. Just seems like it lists a lot fewer titles than other sites list.

Now I remember why I dont use the Previews website so much for plannign my pull. They dont seem to list any more than two weeks. For instance, right now they only list the week of November 2 and November 9. I like to give my LCS a bit more notice on stuff I want. Usually it is just variant type stuff, but I need to special order those usually, and I like to get those orders in for the month usually by the middle of the previous month.

Re: Post Your Weekly Comics Pull-List

I haven't had a pull list in decades. I own pretty much everything, but it's just bought later in dollar bins or digital. But I guess I almost sorta have one now, as I've had a monthly order with DCBS for about six months in a row now. It's mostly hardcovers and trades, but I've been buying Micronauts and Rom, and a few Rebirth titles including Justice League and Hellblazer.

For me previews is more of a secondary source. My primary source would be Image solicits themselves. I make my picks when they come out and then head to Comixology to pre-order the books that I don't already have a subscription.

Previews is just to see which of my books are coming out I a given week.

Re: Post Your Weekly Comics Pull-List

Well, you can get the physical Previews catalog to see what's coming out in two months (more or less). That's how I order stuff via DCBS, though it's not a free catalog. You can also just peruse the DCBS site, but I still like looking at the pretty solicitations to see if there's something interesting.

But yeah week to week I get an email from somewhere saying what's coming in, based on the Diamond list. I don't use it that much because I rarely go to an LCS.

As an aside, do you like Micronauts and Rom, Trevor? I got a few issues of both, then it got tied into some ridiculous crossover and I realized a lot of my attachment to the characters is their context in the Marvel Universe. And I also realized I don't need or want all the Hasbro properties in a shared universe. I'm giving MASK a try, but having read the Revolution issue it also seems too far removed from the original property.

My current DCBS pull list is

Batgirl
Titans (I may drop both of these)
Betty and Veronica
MASK Mobike Armored Strike Command
Mega Princess
Inhumans vs X
Now Champions
Now Nova
Now US Avengers
Super Powers (for the kids)
Transformers Lost Light

Most of these are brand new, as I for whatever reason desperately try to convince myself that reading these monthly is better than waiting for the trade. Usually a few issues later, or a relaunch/renumber, reminds me that it was foolish to try.

I don't have an actual pull list because my LCS always has what I want, but I use http://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/ pull list feature to keep track of what I own/read/whats coming out in the future, since I read across various sources.

I only keep up with current series via trade: Invincible, Walking Dead, Lazarus, Saga. And I'm even behind on the last two.

Now that I'm digital, I could go current and not have to deal with the floppies, but single-issue pricing is so steep.
