Another quick read. King takes very easily to the suspense genre. It was an interesting move to make Bill Hodges a supporting character, but it think it worked perfectly fine. I was quite surprised at the epilogue:

which took a turn into supernatural horror. I wasn't spoiled about details, but everything I read about this trilogy was that it was purely suspense/mystery. But now it will seem stupid if End of Watch doesn't pick up where Finder's Keepers ended and continue down that trail (which suggests a riff on the cult horror movie Patrick).

Anyway, I'm moving right on to End of Watch and see where King takes things.

Just finished this trilogy. Honestly, one of the best book reading experiences I can remember.

Satisfying end to the Bill Hodges trilogy. King fans who balked at these books because they weren't advertised as being horror should rethink that. Though really ... fans of King would likely be open-minded enough to try his books in other genres. I think you really need to read all three in order.

I liked it quite a bit, but way too much of Brody's wife.

Re: What Are You Reading? (June 2017)

I just started "The Mountain Shadow" by Gregory David Roberts. It's a sequel to "Shantaram" which is one of the best books I've ever read. I do recommend it. The Mountain Shadow started well, we'll see if it's as good as the first one.
