Re: What Are You Reading?(January 2017)

Just Finished:

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and Jack Tiffany

I didn't think it was great, but I didn't think it was terrible either. Overall, I liked it. I would give it 3.5/5

Thought it was great, but I think I enjoyed the first one a bit more.

I enjoyed it. It was like mashed up of several books/genres.

Re: What Are You Reading?(January 2017)

Just finished:

Well, this trilogy certainly was something. I'd now like to watch the movie again. Sucks that it's not on Netflix or Amazon Prime. I know many were upset that later movies in the series weren't made. Though now having read the books, the themes would get tougher and tougher to sell in a mainstream movie. They could skirt around the "anti-religion" thing in the first movie, focusing on stuff like talking armored bears, flying witches, the "daemons", big battle, chase, and rescue scenes. But later movies would have to completely rewrite the central theme of the story:
Spoiler:
an all-out war against God. I just don't see that ever happening in a major studio release.
