Recommend a Grisham book please
I'm re-reading The Firm after about 20 years and enjoying it. I think I stopped with his stuff after The Rainmaker, but he sure didn't. One book a year every year. The problem with Grisham is he tends to be really formulaic. Young lawyer, set in Memphis or Mississippi, corruption, FBI, etc. Did he stray from his comfort zone in anything more recent?

I continue to read Grisham novels. Yeah, you know what you're going to get but I'm typically entertained by them. I thought one of his more recent books, The Racketeer, was quite good. A bit of a departure from his tried and true formula.

I'd go with The Innocent Man, which is Grisham's first non-fiction book. It's similar to his novels in that a lot of it still takes place in courtrooms and involves lawyers and criminals, but it's all true. You can tell that Grisham is trying to highlight several issues that he has with the criminal justice system in the US, but he keeps things moving nicely and only occasionally seems a bit pedantic.
