Re: What Are You Reading ?(August 2014)
I'm reading the novelization of Sons of Anarchy:
Occasionally dipping into a short story from this:
And also trying to finish this:
I juggle books almost as badly as I juggle TV shows.

I'm reading Naked Lunch, I'm over 100 pages into it, and have no idea what the hell is going on.

Thank Darwyn Cooke. I've been jumping around a bit, not entirely reading them all chronologically. Like I said, I'm not sure why they're appealing, but they're kind of fun.

After nearly 2000 pages of GRRM, I needed something easy:
Really had no idea what this was about going in, except that is was a YA story set in the future. Which is probably the best way to experience it.
Are the other books in the series worth reading? From what little I've read, they pick up with new characters right? So Jakob's story (that we know of) ends with the first book?
Just starting:
I enjoyed Horns and Heart Shaped Box, so hopefully this will be good too.

Now starting the third in the series: The Midnight Man.
Not sure whether Estleman's character has ever been filmed or televised, although I did read that Amos Walker's spiritual uncle, Travis Mcgee, may soon be filmed again in a new project: http://variety.com/2014/film/news/ch...e-1201139639/#

Started going through "A First Course In String Theory (second edition)" by Barton Zwiebach.
Somewhat heavy going, and my math background is somewhat rusty. (I was an engineering major back in college).

Finished:
I thought this was decent. Was a bit of a slow read for me, but that may have been my mood though. The multiple story lines kind of kill the flow - keeps jumping between then quickly... but the structure of daughters story line at the end of most chapters was annoying.

Before I Go to Sleep is the first novel by S. J. Watson published in Spring 2011. It became both a Sunday Times and New York Times bestseller and has been translated into over 30 languages, and has become a bestseller in France, Canada, Bulgaria and the Netherlands. It reached number 7 on the US bestseller list, the highest position for a debut novel by a British author since J. K. Rowling.
