Finished all three of the John Locke westerns and enjoyed them greatly. Thanks for the recommendation!
I'm now reading that Tera Patrick biography.
I'm also doing the reading promise where I sit and read a chapter or two of a book every day for 100 days with my daughter. We are reading the Wizard of Oz.

Just started reading this last night...haven't read a King book in a long time but the premise of this one sounds really interesting.

Not sure if it was said in one of the Creed books or it's just something that Locke spoke about somewhere, but apparently, Emmett is a relative of Donovan Creed!

Finished:
Very good debut novel, but there are a lot of similarities to "The Financial Lives of the Poets". Recommend both books, but definitely don't read them back-to-back.

I just wanted to say that whilst the sequels are fairly poor On Basilisk Station is a really grand old school space opera that I would recommend to anyone.
Currently reading;
What seemed like a dry book originally with a lot of road directions and the like is turning into an amusing and informative ride through American history.

Finished up Sinner Takes All.
Now I am reading:
and
So far both have been good. I would recommend Education Nation for anyone involved or interested in education. A Billion Wicked Thoughts has also been super fascinating so far.

Re: What are you reading? (January 2012)
The fact that I started reading it about 11:15pm and was at 76% done and finished the book about 12:30ish is a good indicator that I really enjoyed the book. Overall, I'd say it was a very good book that captured the struggle between the faerie courts quite well. The build-up throughout the book to the final resolution was well done, though I do think it concentrated a little too much on mundane issues instead of more faerie centered. I would have also liked to have a bit more explanation of the different species, if that is a proper word to use, that were present in the court. The final battle, while appropriate for the heroine and was the resolution that I expected, seemed a little rushed and I would have liked to get more of an insight into the battle and how it played out. With that said, I understand that it was one of the early urban/modern fantasy books dealing with the courts.
The characters were believable and I felt empathy towards them and felt invested in the struggle. I have read some books where the main characters were flat and it mattered not what happened to them. I'd still love to find or for an author to write a book that focuses almost entirely on the struggles between the courts. The October Daye series has some of that mixed in with a modern/urban setting. The Sixty-One Nails series did a very nice job with the faerie aspect and I'm looking forward to that third book coming out in May.
I did like the description of the First Avenue club in Minneapolis as it made me recall a night that I went there with my college roommate and his fiance one night when I was in town to stand up in their wedding.
All in all, I really liked reading it and would recommend it to others that enjoy this genre. Thanks for recommending it to me as I'd probably wouldn't have found out about it on my own.

I read this series a few years ago, a 4th book is coming out so I am rereading 1-3. I thought it would take a while to get through it since I have read them before, but I am 75% through the first book after 1 day.

Re: What are you reading? (January 2012)
Gave this a quick read during my lunch break today.
You can donate what you want and download it at the link through the image. Or, through Amazon's Kindle store is 99 cents. Its a short read and I don't think it took me more than 10 minutes. I'd be interested if it or a similar type of story were made into an actual book.
