Hi, I've read the 'Postman' novel by David Brin as well as purchase the 'Postman' on DVD, and didn't find it to be that bad a translation! I was wondering are there any other good post-apocalyptic novels or films out there - I've been waiting to see 'The Omega Man' sometime...but I'd also like to read some material. I got excited about 'Dark Angel' on TV, and while I still like its setting, I prefer less 'civilization' in my P-A themed stories.

Lucifer's Hammer is one of my all time favorites. Comet crashes into Earth, chaos ensues, groups form, etc...
The Stand of course.
New Madrid Run is pretty good.
War Day (if you can find a copy) is great. It's written from 2 journalists viewpoints as they travel across the US after a limited nuclear war. Written in a 'reality' style, good read.

The Stand, of course, by Stephen King was great. I also really enjoyed Swan Song by Robert R. McCammon. Actually, I recommend Swan Song more highly than The Stand. Defenitely defenitely defenitely worth a read.
