I paid by Redcard and Groupon $10 Target gift card. I tried to chat and it opened a dialogue/messenger window saying to call if I don't get a response in 24 hours? Weird.

So are price matches no longer allowed? I've asked 4 different chat representatives and they all said no.

Did you look under "Target.com order experience"? I just finished chatting with a representative. They're available until midnight, central standard time.

Ordered ( all $15.99) Ghibli / Disney title ( BD + DVD)

The wind rises
Castle in the sky
The secret world of Arrietty

I had purchased Target gift cards for 10% off a while back

Came to just over $10 each with free shipping. Many are not available in stores. Were on my wish list for a while.

Yeah, at first, it automatically redirected me to the app, so then I went to the full desktop version of the webpage, where the rep told me three times he couldn't do any price matching because they are on buy 2 get 1.

Then told me he was refunding one of them, which he did by discounting each item....then I got an egiftcard for one of the amounts but nothing for the other two??
Gonna check my Redcard account info to see if they refunded it that way.

Good to know you got in contact with someone. You can always try calling them if your situation doesn't clear up soon. I hope everything goes well for you.

Target must run this sale as a loss leader to clear out inventory. If you are smart about it, some items end up being below wholesale pricing.

No dice on a couple of the Target exclusives, about the only things I pay more than $5 for, so I'm probably out on this sale.

I'm curious about this. There seems to be a LOT of stuff there that would never see the inside of a Target store, including several Vinegar Syndrome, Artsploitation, Severin and Massacre Video titles, among many others. Does Target actually order that stuff and keep it at their own warehouses for online shoppers, or do they use some kind of third party for inventory that isn't necessarily destined for their stores?

I got rejected a lot of times in regards to the price match, but I got through twice. The trick is, I think, it's just to mention you want to price match some items, don't mention the buy 2, get 1 free deal. Again, your milage may vary.

Just got my shipping notice. Says the parcel's coming from Sheppardsville, KY, to Michigan, for what that's worth.

re: Target buy-2-get-1-free mega-thread

Thanks, OP. I picked up some Criterions including pre-orders:
Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (pre-order)
Mildred Pierce (pre-order)
Punch-Drunk Love
Fantastic Mr. Fox
The Devil's Backbone
Exterminating Angel

After Red Card discount and a $5 gift card, each title was around $17.05

re: Target buy-2-get-1-free mega-thread

I ordered three Criterions as well. I also wanted to get three newly released WAC:
Love in the Afternoon
The Yakuza
Wait Until Dark

I regret not pulling the trigger yesterday, as the first two have now disappeared from the site... :-(

re: Target buy-2-get-1-free mega-thread

Only one order placed so far, but I'm debating whether to place an order with a couple of 4k titles, specifically thinking of Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, Arrival and La La Land.

No UHD player yet, but I'd like to get one this year and know these would be titles on my list to buy. I fear that if I don't order now, I'll just get the Blu-ray for the latter two when they hit a $10 price point and will then end up upgrading at some point in the future. Oh, the vicious upgrading cycle.

Just got Billy Lynn and La La Land 4K, along with Doctor Strange 3D Target exclusive. With $15 in gift cards, came out to $14.50 for each one. I can live with that.

re: Target buy-2-get-1-free mega-thread

Well, I'm weak. Very, very weak. I decided to run by the store during my lunch break and made two purchases. The first was Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk 4k, Arrival 4k and complete Beavis and Butt-head DVD. The second was John Wick 4k, Howl's Moving Castle and My Neighbor Totoro.

So, now I've got three UHD titles but no player. At least I'm ready for one!

Yeah, at $20 or so, there is no reason not to pick up the 4K version especially since it already includes the standard blu-ray.

I still couldn't justify picking up Billy Lynn 4K without at least renting the movie first since the reviews have been harsh, no matter how beautiful the 60fps video is supposed to look.

The anime deals are surprisingly good if you can find three similarly priced items.

I got Shimoneta, Kamisama Kiss: S2 and Noragami Aragoto: S2 for $88.

re: Target buy-2-get-1-free mega-thread

Like many, I sure wish the $5 gift card items were eligible (even if they removed the gift card).

I ended up ordering these for a total of $62.92 with tax:

Dr. Strange 3D Target Exclusive ($27.99)
Donnie Darko 4 Disc ($31.59)
Rumble Fish Criterion ($26.19).

I find it annoying that some items that are $5 in store are $15 or so online.

Placed one more order. Rambo trilogy, What We Do In The Shadows, and Spike Lee collection (He Got Game & 25th Hour). All for $31.

re: Target buy-2-get-1-free mega-thread

I'm doing some browsing by genre just to see if I get some unexpected ideas, and I have found some really strange listings. I guess Target sells import versions of some titles. I've seen numerous covers with ratings on the front like you would expect from imports, and I've found titles that haven't been released here. They have a listing for the movie The Dead Zone on Blu-ray, but I don't think that has been released here in the United States. Also, I found the original Rollerball, but I thought that was limited in the U.S. to Twilight Time. Anyway, very surprised at some of the titles on the site!
