Re: Barnes & Noble 50% Off MSRP Cohen Films and Arrow Video

I had seen a link for the Robocop Arrow release and it was $24.99, which beats Amazon's by like $3. I don't know if B&N charges you immediately for pre-orders, though.

Kind of funny that Amazon takes such a hard line on the shipping charges given that their non-Prime cheap shipping is 6.99 for a single item UNLESS of course you pay $120 yearly for the privilege.
I'll take my $20 B&N membership (paid for with 20+% discounted GC) every time and make out like a bandi -- if B&N sends the $10 Holiday GC to members again this year that makes the net Membership $10 yearly.

Two Films by Douglas Sirk. Weirdly enough I had been looking into it last week, starting my holiday list. Deep Discount and TCM Shop had it on backorder already. Blowitoutahere on eBay had one copy, but someone beat me to it. Amazon supposedly does have it, but it doubled in price overnight, and they're the only ones saying it's in stock, so even if it hadn't jumped out of my budget I'd be side-eying them. And then, yay, B&N has it and on sale! Only not so much. So now I'm really kicking myself for all the times I said, "next time."

Re: Barnes & Noble 50% Off MSRP Cohen Films and Arrow Video

Sounds like you have more information that I do, but I did check several indy sites that carry unusual items and didn't find anything.

I even checked seveal of the B&N SuperMedia (my description) stores and none appear close. I checked the Cohens as a group and the special stores in NYC, LA, Chicago, and Baltimore had very few Cohens at all.
The most I found instock was 8 or 9 and 3 or 4 of those were the Keaton's

Hopefully they bring some more online at some point in the sale, but I'm not overly optimistic in general.

Looks like it returned to stock this morning along with about a dozen other titles. Hope you can grab one before it disappears again

I did, hurray! Very strange- it vanished from everywhere and then reappeared everywhere. But I'll take it, no questions asked. Thanks for helping me hunt!

Part of the everywhere can be explained that one distributor (ALLIANCE) controls the inventory at 90% of the websites. AMazon is sort of separate, BBY and Walmart are marginally spearated b.c they aren't
exclusively supplied by ALLIANCE, but for a tiny studio like Cohen it wouldn't surprise me is close to 100% of product flows through them

Re: Barnes & Noble 50% Off MSRP Cohen Films and Arrow Video

I tried buying Man of A Thousand Faces an Arrow release in store. Price came up $20.99 instead of $17.49 the on line price. They could price match the website but the system and the manager would not give me 10% membership discount so I walked. Would I have better luck going to a store with no stock and using ship to home? Which price comes up with Ship to home website or in store? Does this mean Arrow sale is online only? I just read 1st post which answered my question. Online only and no ship to home advantage. Thanks for the info. I should have just bought it but the wrapping was damaged. The blu ray wasn’t even on the floor. They got it from the back.

The instore price is 40% off for few of the Arrows and that should be the STH price as well, but the 10% membership should apply to the 40% price -- that's still $18.90. I was able to get a 15% coupon to apply so mine was $16, but I don't think it applied automatically. 1st it would mean having a 15% stashed AND getting the clerk to apply it.

Primematches don't technically block the 10%, but it you look at the receipt the 10% is applied first then the PM. Bottom line it's one or the other.

Re: Barnes & Noble 50% Off MSRP Cohen Films and Arrow Video

Major restock just happened. There were about 25 titles available last night, but noticed closer to 75-80 this morning.

Still a few holes (Keaton V2, Faces Places, Douglas Sirk pair, Vivian Leigh Set etc), but pretty nice deal just got a lot wider.
Several like Intolerance and several of the 2014 releases that have OOS seemingly forever

Several of the James Ivory items returned to stock though Maurice went OOS a couple days ago.

Bullmoose.com has an Arrow flash sale with a few great prices like 11.98 for a man of thousand faces. Need 30 dollars worth to get free shipping. No sales tax either for me.

Nice prices and Bullmoose is very reliable for anyone that hasn't ever ordered from them.

50% off Arrow sale at B&N

The sale has started, I'm not sure how long it's supposed to last. Includes at least some pre-orders.

Re: 50% off Arrow sale at B&N

I'm guessing through the end of November? Although the sale does include Snake Girl and the Silver-Haired Witch, which doesn't come out until mid-December. But that was a recent delay, so maybe it got grandfathered in.

Re: 50% off Arrow sale at B&N

The current Arrow sale running has better pricing, isn’t Black Friday usually a BOGO (which is the same as this sale)? Currently the US webstore has titles for $15 and the UK site even lower

Re: 50% off Arrow sale at B&N

For some reason, the Arrow US site doesn't have the Invisible Man double feature, and it's not allowed to be shipped to the US from the UK site, so looks like B&N is the best place to get that.
Nice thing about B&N is you can use discounted gift cards, I have one of those Happy Teen cards to use that I got for about 15% off.

Re: 50% off Arrow sale at B&N

Wow, some good prices on great titles. I haven't paid much attention to Arrow before, but this looks like a stellar lineup done with care. Anyone able to elaborate on their experience with an Arrow release? I don't know that I have one.

Edit: Wait, I picked up the! Arrow edition of Ronin for dirt cheap at Hamilton Books this spring. I love that movie and that release is amazing!

Re: 50% off Arrow sale at B&N

A lot more items on sale on the Arrow UK site.About 600 in UK vs. 120 in the US. Shipping is high but not terrible . VAT is not removed and they do charge Sales Tax . Still the sale prices are good. Classic films like The Major and The Minor, Hold Back The Dawn, and The Apartment are 8 pounds each on the UK site before shipping and sales tax.

Re: 50% off Arrow sale at B&N

I was hoping to see the Shawscope Vol 1 set included in the Arrow 50% sale, but it doesn't release until 12/14. Might there be another 50% sale on the horizon in early 2022 based on previous years?

I only have two Arrow releases, so I'm kinda late to the game with them. But I did see a couple on this sale I might nab (Spider Baby and Audition).

I'll second this. I got six titles in Arrow's own sale for $15 US each, all of which are $19.99 at B&N. Granted, the selection wasn't as wide (I think?), but it's definitely worth checking your titles at both sites before buying at B&N.
