I saw that...some of the prices on those digibooks get to the lowest retail ever. Thankfully, have stocked up on most. But yes, grab them now as they aren't producing more. There's a few being offered in Costco as well for $12.99

Yep, my list of digibooks is just about complete now. There's 3 or 4 I still need to grab but not top tier for me. I also scored all 3 Hobbit extended cut 3D sets for like $23 each. Now THAT was a freakin' amazing deal. I used this Barnes & Noble sale to get items that are out-of print and getting very hard-to-find. Newer stuff will be around awhile.

The digipaks weren't incredibly great deals especially since all discs from Apocalypse Now: Full Disclosure Edition have been released by Lionsgate on the cheap in a new standard keepcase. But my love of this film demanded that I get this set before it is impossible to find. Warner Brothers does a bang up job with these digipaks. The cases are hard cardboard and they contain materials that add to the knowledge and experience of the film including a hard cover photo book. They do not contain cheap useless trinkets. I own the digipaks of "Goodfellas," "Once Upon A Time in America" (OOP) and "The Town." I may yet pick up "Alexander Revisited" but I'm not a huge fan of the film. The digibook versions of "The Exorcist" and "Citizen Kane" kinda trumped the digipaks for me so I'll pass on those.

I know the 40/30 combo of this deal was only working for one day, but I'm surprised that this thread (and the one in the dvd deals forum) only has a few posts about this. I expected to see pages and pages. Great discounts on Criterion, Shout, Kino, box sets, etc. I haven't seen a sale this good in a long time. I went crazy and spent over $300.

Debating The Hobbit 3D sets, but why not just buy the import 3D versions which normally sell at around $60.

B&N threads may not get so much traffic or responses because let's face it...B&N sales mostly suck. Except for this rare occasion.

Need to complete my digibook collection with 'Meet Me in St.Louis' and 'Hand Christian Andersen' but don't want to spend more to pad the order to minimum $50. Decisions, decisions

After postage and handling and the currency conversion, these are about the same. But I fully despise the labels studios are forced to apply in the UK and I wanted to receive them quicker and be able to return them domestically if damaged. These are so handsomely designed I am glad to own them.

I just tried the coupon and my $125. + order was a "Tier 2", -now it's reading as a "Tier 1". I dropped a bunch of stuff just to see what would happen and it stayed "Tier 1". There's several items I won't order unless I'm at "Tier 2". I'll check back in an hour or so.

I placed another order a few hours ago. Whew! But the order from Late Friday Night/Early Saturday Morning continues to be in "processing mode with a delivery date of June 24th... I'll be floored if it actually makes it here on that date.

Looks like I lucked out of this deal. Code worked OK early today, but I got busy with some home projects and decided to hold off until this evening. Now nothing works.

Just as well I guess.
