Who is calling those recent deals on The Sopranos and The Wire to be Black Friday related? Seems like a real stretch to the point of Black Friday having no meaning. Might as well just be Holiday Deals.

Whoever is region free, Amazon Germany has XFiles listed for €129.99. With VAT removed and reasonable shipping and very favorable exchange rates, that could be a route to go for Region B embracers. I will personally wait out a couple of years if need be for this to be go sub $100. Besides Hastings 40% off used sales have always been a significant factor for my collection and I can definitely land one there after the initial excitement has died down

Not trying to be nit picky, but seriously... there are always huge sales. What about the many awesome deals just a couple weeks ago?

Maybe I'm the only one, but it seems to ridiculous to call something a Black Friday deal till the actual date.

Might as well include anybody that scores the Fringe or Chuck sets in that other thread. Or my getting Army of Darkness for only $17.99 at BB. Not likely to hit that price again until next October.

Classic Films

It use to be the people would start posting ads for Black Friday around this time of year. Retailers would threaten law suites for early disclosure. Now more than one site is calling it Black November . Amazon has its countdown to Black Friday etc. Actually I am feeling let down that there hasn't been a great deal since "The Wire" two days ago.

For the record, Black November would actually make sense. Of course it would only take a year or two before people than started early Black November sales in October and the cycle would reset.

Again, Maybe it's just me, but I don't think too many people are actually looking to do their actual holiday shopping until the actual Black Friday. So most of these sales will go unnoticed by people that don't frequent forums like this one. Hell, most of my family still does their shopping at the last minute. Like on December 23rd-24th.

A giant Kino sale would be good. I just ordered 2 from DD with 2 discounts stacked, + Forbidden Hollywood & the new Yes Fragile blu-ray. The discounts stacked on all 4. I still (at minimum) need to get Kino's Death Kiss; I'm a huge Lugosi fan & I only have the awful Alpha on that one.

While music related, I'm really hoping APO finally releases the 3 Sarah McLachlan SACD's that were supposed to be out last summer in time for BF.

The Yes was supposed to be released Friday. They shipped the FH (I really wanted the first edition), but the Yes is still "backordered". They've also shipped the 22 Kino's. If all 3 really shipped (Friday), it's the fastest shipping I've ever seen from DD.

I'd like the Beatles BR DE also, but around $20 is my top price.
