July 15 Amazon Prime Day

Re: July 15 Amazon Prime Day
One possible good deal, but it is highly YMMV:
Some people are having the Kindle Unlimited deal stack with some mystery promo that results in the price being $72 for two years of Kindle Unlimited. The updated price doesn't show up until checkout.
Edit: The mystery promo appears to be related to getting your tax refund in Amazon credit.

$64.99 (41% off)
Archer Complete Seasons 1-5 Set

Lol. The blurays have been cheaper than this, I can't believe they spent millions advertising this promo and this is all they are going to do.
98% claimed? Damn people! Stop and think, that is a bad deal!

I thought maybe besides just the lightning deals, they would be dropping prices like they usually do around Thanksgiving and Christmas.... So far I have received exactly zero notifications from camelcamelcamel that any of my 300+ DVDs/Blus have dropped below my thresholds.

I casually looked at this sale last night and some of today.
A whole lot of hype for nothing. I think I'll save my money.
I was more curious to see if any of my wish list items dropped dramatically in price and of course none did.

I did pick up the PS4 bundle. Came with 2 games and a year of PS+ for the same cost as a regular bundle. Been looking for a long time for a deal, so I figured this may be as good as it gets, at least until BF.

To Kill a Mockingbird came up for 7.99 and I almost went for it because I don't actually own the movie, then figured maybe I have enough BDs/DVDs and didn't need to buy this one. It's not like I want to watch it all the time. As a longtime collector, I thought it was kinda sad.
That was an excellent deal. I was tempted.

The way they hyped this sale, I figured several of the 60+ items I have in my cart (saved for later) would drop enough for me to jump on them but so far this Amazon Prime Day has been lame as shit.

Re: July 15 Amazon Prime Day
Almost bit on Kingsman, but decided to check FamilyVideo before checking out and they had it for $8.49 used (I know, not apples to apples), so I got it there plus Blackhat ($6.99) with free shipping since I usually don't utilize digital copies.
So far, I've purchased 7 BDs today and not a single one from Amazon US. Pretty disappointed in this Prime Day promo.

Not to pile on, but this has to be the worst PR backfire since the Fire phone went on sale to the sound of crickets. I've been a Prime member for 3 years (mainly due to getting the 1/2 price educational rate) but today planted the seed of doubt for my long term interest in being a Prime member.
If Black Friday goes this route later this year I'm probably out.

Just ordered Kingsman and used my CC points. It came to about $8.36 and I used the standard shippping option and that will give me $3 in credit, so that works out great.
We'll automatically apply a $3 eBooks, digital music and videos credit to your account when this order ships. Offer redemption requires customers to be in the U.S.

BF sales have been shit for a while. Did we really think this was going to be any better?
Most of the blus that went on sale, I already had. The TVs that were onsale are still too small for me.
Overall there's just a lot of shit I don't really need.

Good tip. I likely would not have noticed it was a $3 credit if you had not mentioned it. Having said that, one decent deal all day....
