Got my copy of Vanishing with the 15% coupon (and my gift card). They had at least three copies of that one, so no worries. Still have $6 bucks and change on my gift card, if they release something ludicrous for BF like 40%, then I'll go back and get Macbeth. Else, I'll just hold off.

Definitely generic. Looks like the only coupon for the BF weekend for all customers until Monday. Then there is a 25% off Cyber Monday online coupon for December 1st. Next few weeks should see a run of generic coupons but most are online codes. Not confirmed but hoping next weekend might have some store coupons of at least 25% off. B&N has had some in the past so hoping history repeats itself this year.

No. In all my years of B&N Criterion shopping, I've used dozens of coupons but not once did anyone allow me to use 2 item coupons for one item. However, I have had luck using either a percent off or $8 off along with the $5 off $50 coupon since the latter is for a total purchase and not for an individual item.

Also, even though others have - as jwstl notes - been able to use a percentage AND a "x off X" together, I (and others) have failed to use two coupons on one item. Depends on the checkout person, and sometimes the system...

Is this 30% off coupon over Black Friday pretty much a given? If so, I'm going to hold off on my purchases until then. I got the okay from my mom to get twenty titles at $18, but could get more if I could get a better discount.
I'm counting on hariseldon and/or Laser Movies to drop a big fat pile of coupons in my inbox in a couple weeks so it can rain Criterions in the Shagrath household.

The key may be which 2 coupons? A % coupon and the $5off50 transaction coupon will work frequently if they will allow multiple coupons per purchase AND your purchase after % coupons is more than 50.
Using 2 %off coupons or a %off/$8off item coupons would seem to be tougher to get and I've never done it even with some of my coupon friendly. Certainly anything is possible I guess. Of course it could be that I've had such poor acceptance of the $8 coupon in general that I rarely try it

The book deals can be OK -- generally most items will be 20-30% off normally so with your membership you get 30-40% in store and maybe online. The nice thing about the books is that you'll get 40% off the full MRSP rather than a 30% Sale and then 10% off the sale price -- a bit different than the movie sales. The coupons then work on top of that price -- in general you still have to check Amazon and other places, but BN will generally be slightly better on new items especially with the extra discounts. I don;t keep up with the std book sales, but I think they do have occasion B2G1 and 50%+ off deals like with the movies.
Movie sales will vary a lot during the year though for much of the year these can be very targeted groups and in between sales the prices aren't competitive. Usually at least 2 or 3 "40% off sales" some B2G1 or occasionally B1G1 sales, the 2 big Criterion 50% sales, at least once a year there will be a 50% off all Childrens Movies. As always, the % off sales will be taken from the MSRP and not the standard price

Yeh. Audio-Technica LP60, micca book shelfs, Lepai 2020 amp and a 10" Polk PSW10 cost me only $220 and it is the best investment of my life!
Movies dominated for years but since this, LP' are my new love. New ones for $15-$20 are a good deal but vintage 60's and 70's for 5 bucks are so, so good!!
The Goodwill bins for $1 has landed me so e awesome finds as well.

And if you aim to buy more than, say, 12 Criteriin titles over the year (or, in June and November) or 20 movies or a dozen books, or any combination thereof: already paid for itself.
BN.com often charges tax (boo!), BUT often pricematches Amazon, so an online coupon and free shipping can make it a good option in addition to good discounts as deacribed by hariseldon above, which are usually better instore, because of the memberahip 10% discount.

Took some convincing with the cashier but in the end she couldn't argue the language in the coupons.
Ended up getting the set for $43 plus tax!

Thankfully, I've got a manager at my store that will let me use any amount of coupons. He actually greeted me the other night and said he was talking to his co-workers about me the other day. I told him I heard a rumor about a 30% off BF coupon, and he said he wasn't sure. I told him I would probably be rolling in that weekend and picking up about 30 or so titles. He said to just call a few days ahead so they could be sure they had everything in stock.
