Those Acorn Blu-ray releases almost never go on sale at Amazon. There are some distributors that I think are too small to offer Amazon much of a serious volume discount. It's the same way for a lot of niche genres like horror and anime unless Amazon has a specific sale for a certain line.

I'm looking at DD's sister merchant DVD Planet. I'm finding in many cases their prices mirror DD's "BIGSALE", and in some cases, are even cheaper at DVD Planet without a coupon code than at DD w/ a coupon code.

A few I randomly looked up:

Death Occurred Last Night DVD
DD- $12.56 w/ coupon code
DP- $10.99

Countess Dracula BD
DD - (not listed?)
DP- $15

Maniac Cop II BD
DD - $15.33
DP - $13.35

Kino & Olive titles have been cheaper on DDD in past sales so I would avoid those.

Grindhouse, Vinegar Syndrome & Severin titles are good deals in this sale.

I agree about Acorn releases. But just an FYI, S2 was only released a few days ago, so I expect a high price on Amazon for a while. Currently, S1 is around $28 on Amazon, which will more than likely apply to S2 in the near future.

Man, of the 6 items I had in my cart, 4 of them stayed the same price AND were part of the sale. I made out like a bandit; as much as I shouldn't, I may have to jump back in on this one.

That series is sooooooooooooo good though! I've already watched S2, but even though I actually liked S1 better, still wanted to own it to go along with my s1 box.

I would suggest starting with S1. Here's a link to my review on Amazon:

Some decent deals I have found and actually probably the cheapest prices I have seen on them

http://www.deepdiscount.com/bluray/L...NATURE-EDITION

This Educational series looks really cool and for someone into corny 50's and 60's stuff, I may pull the trigger on this. It is also limited to 10k, lol, well at least they state how many

Every title I looked up last night that I had any interest in, was already cheaper over at DVD Planet. The only ones that weren't cheaper at DVDP, ironically, were the DD titles that weren't on sale.

Same here.

Wouldn't surprise me if they're cheaper at ImportCDs too.

In previous years I've found a few DD bargains to my liking. But this year has to be the least deep discounts at Deep Discount.

Mine is still just like yours on the website, but I've also gotten a shipping notice with a tracking # from an unknown carrier!

Re: Deep Discount "Big Sale" 5/30/14-6/16/14 Save 25%

Thanks to That'sAllFolks and to DeepDiscount (they just notified me of a shipment which is rather fast for them). I ordered Transformers Prime S2 for $7.31 shipped ($5.32 + $1.99). I couldn't find anything else so I had no problems paying the shipping (I notice the price of this almost tripled not too long after I placed an order). I loved the first season, so this was a definite buy for me. Now, I hope it comes to me on one piece...

I have that lunchbox. The educational films are great. Skip does shows in the Raleigh area highlighting all kinds films in his collection (A/V Geeks). I'm pretty sure there is a second 'locker' collection of films available.

The only decent deal I found was An American Hippie In Israel for $17.08. It's $25.64 on amazon and $24.47 on importcds.

Going for a blind buy here, but I figure I'll never see it unless I buy it.

If you are a Matt & Trey fan, Cannibal! The Musical: 13th Anniversary Edition is $10.62.

This is a better price than it has ever been on Amazon and I doubt a BD for this movie is coming anytime soon. The lowest it has ever been is $13.88 but usually stays around the 15 dollar range.

Got my Transformers Prime S2 order (w/ some other stuff) today SHIPPED PRIORITY. This is not the first time that a multiple item order was shipped priority. I don't know why. I think I'd rather have lower prices than faster shipping, but I'll take it.

I would say a majority of items are priced cheaper at DVD Planet for the sale.

nevermind- code is only good on items listed in the catalog, not sitewide.

For a second I thought that was a Blu-ray release and was totally ready to buy it (although I'm not sure how much better it would look anyways). I bought the original release a long time ago and didn't even have any idea there was a new version out.
