Two items for me on the upgrade--Paul ($13) and Big ($5). A lot of titles seemed picked over, so not as much to choose from as I would have liked. Still, a good deal.

I called Iwilei, and they didn't have any and said it was a title they don't carry in store. I asked them to check stock in Aiea, and the system showed 1 being in stock, making that a "maybe" as to whether it was actually there or not. I took a chance and drove out there, and that "maybe" turned out to be correct, as I found one copy on the shelf.

And yeah, Aiea definitely has a better selection. They have, what, 4 rows for Blu-ray, vs. Iwilei's 1.5 rows.

I have a few disposable DVD's that I've already upgraded and aren't worth it to try and sell on my own... and I've been waiting on Cap and Thor for a while... anybody think I'll be likely to do any better than 14.99 anytime soon, or should I just bite the bullet and go for it?

Previous Marvel movies I've always been able to get cheap at some point, but it's occuring to me that the newer releases may be on more of a Disney price scale.

Traded in 5 more DVDs today.

I have 4 more left to get rid of and then I think I'm done...probably for good with DVD trade-ins as everything else I have I want to keep.

I picked up with the $10 I had left from yesterday.

Supernatural season 1 for $13.99. I already have seasons 1-4 on DVD, but I noticed that the BD for season 1 has some exclusive BD features, so I upgraded. No plans to upgrade the rest.

The Dilemma for $7.99 with the movie cash for The Five Year Engagement.


The thing for me is that I'm really thinking hard about getting stuff I like and has replay value and not because it's cheap. There were alot of titles I passed on because I already saw them and they have no real replay value for me.

After I get rid of the remaining 4 DVDs I have left, I will have $45 worth of coupons. I hope to get:

New Year's Eve (Yes I liked that movie)

Underworld Awakening

Chuck season 5 (if it's not too expensive)

The Vow

and maybe a few other cheap titles to round it out.

I love this deal every time they do it. It sucks that I sold all my crappy dvds at the flea market before they started doing it. Its kind of hard for to find things to trade in now.

People should really take advantage of the deal on the Supernatural season sets. I hate that I bought them a bit ago when they were on sale at WBshop.com. I paid $19 each, and $33 for season 2. I thought that was a great deal, but $13.99 each is insane.

I have more junk dvd's than I know what to do with (especially because a friend just gave me a bunch of trashed dvd's from her late father which a second friend is unsuccessfully trying to sell for me at $1.00 ea!), but I don't think there's that many $10 br's I want. I'm not that keen on replacing dvd with BLU unless it's something special; for one thing my eye site isn't that good, & as a mostly classic film buff I often prefer FS. That said, if i see films I consider truly special like Clockwork Orange for $5, I will replace DVD with Blu!

Personally, I cant imagine trading in DVDs like those two, as they are actual films with value. But then, I guess everyone doesn't have hundreds of demo and quarter bin DVDs laying around like I do.
I've had no problems with them accepting slim cases at multiple stores so far.
