Looney Tunes Platinum Collection: Volume One (Collector's Edition) - $34.99

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Not sure how much longer it will be this price or if someone has posted about it already, but I figured this deserved its own thread and was worth the potential double-post.

Worth an upgrade? Amazon customers seem to have divided opinions.

Reluctant to spend more since already have Vol. 1-6 of Golden Collections. Also noticed that the entire set will be released on SD for around $90.

Re: Looney Tunes Platinum Collection: Volume One (Collector's Edition) - $34.99

Soooo tempting. I know there are 6 cartoons which weren't included in the Golden Collection, but the review also mentions two shorts missing (granted, not starring the main characters we know and love.) But that is a pretty good price...

What a steal! I grew up loving Looney Tunes, and I can't wait to revisit these cartoons in HD.

I just got mine today, and it's number 147 of 36,000! I'm not a limited edition nut or anything, but getting a number that low was completely unexpected.

Re: Looney Tunes Platinum Collection: Volume One (Collector's Edition) - $34.99

I wonder why they couldn't think of some better swag to put in. How about a lenticular artwork like in Blade runner. This stuff is a little lame, I'm ready for St. Patrick's day with my Bugs Bunny shot glass though.

The shot glass is there strictly for us suckers that have bought these Golden Collections on VHS, laserdisc, DVD, and now blu ray. Just them saying, "Hey, thanks for constantly buying the same shit over and over. Now take a drink."

Damn, I'm in for this, but what was the price at last week? Just so I can know how much of a deal I got!

Re: Looney Tunes Platinum Collection: Volume One (Collector's Edition) - $34.99

So as you can see, it's been around $50.99 for a while now. Given the amount of content in the set and the fact that it's a Blu-ray, this is actually a pretty good price. Not only that, but the Golden Collection DVDs rarely went on sale for below $25, if memory serves. I feel like maybe I got them for around $20 each, but they were never consistently low-priced, unless you got them during the random Sam's Club sale here or there.

I doubt we'll see this for much cheaper than $34.99 in the future. Not only that, but knowing there are such limited quantities pretty much guarantees that it will go OOP sooner or later and then we'll never find it for this cheap again.

Re: Looney Tunes Platinum Collection: Volume One (Collector's Edition) - $34.99

^ I was already eying that as soon as I saw you posted about the sale in the other thread. With coupon and cashback it will only be slightly cheaper. But if it is the same price in-store, with members discount I'll definitely jump. Plus I get 5% from my B&N MC...

Got mine today and I was surprised to see 112 of 36,000. Like Adam, I'm not huge into limited edition things (I just care about the content, really), but getting a number that low was kind of neat.

Content with Volumes 1-6 on DVD for the time being. After spending so much on those sets over the years I'm not quite lubed enough to upgrade again.

Good price for that set. For B&N members who might want the non-swag version, with 20% coupon discount it comes to $23.99 shipped. Perhaps not ideal for non-members since the price drops just below the free shipping threshold.

I checked my nearest store online and they supposedly have it in stock, but not for the sale price. So I just ordered with my free member shipping for $26.06 including tax.

I was hoping this would pop up in my Gold Box this week, but no such luck. $34.99 is still a great price though.

500 out of 36,000, The only number items I collect is Guy Hebert (31/XXXX). I have to say why the shot glass? We are no longer kids, so we can get drunk with Bugs Bunny?
