Thanks for the info. I was going to use a $5 U&S coupon on this, but since the pre-order price is cheaper than the sale price - the coupon, I pre-ordered it. I'm expecting this to be canceled since the DVD and Blu is the same price.

I posted this on another site, but I thought some people here might be interested. The 3D starter kit that includes 5 dreamworks 3d Blu Rays (4 Shrek movies and Megamind) is on clearance at best buy for $49.99 and as of earlier this morning was still available in the stores around me (Long Beach, CA). Pretty good deal for just the movies and if you don't need the glasses (I have a passive 3d Tv) you can always resale to make the deal even better. I can't post links yet, but if you look up 3d Starter Kit on best buy it will pop up as $179, but change to $49.99 when you add to cart. Also, the description is wrong. There are no vouchers for the last 2 movies. They are all included in the box.

They work in standard blu ray player too. At least Megamind did for me. That's the only one I've checked so far in non 3d.

Edit: I just checked Shrek and it plays fine too in non 3d.

I also just sold the glasses on Amazon, so in the long run the price is cut in half for me.

Many movies that were $9.99 for a long time before this sale are now $14.99. Psycho (Hitch), Conan the Barbarian, Conan the Destroyer, the MI series etc...losing interest in this 'sale'

Oh definitely, I actually found An American Werewolf in London today, but it rang up at $19.99. Asked for a website price match and the price showed at $14.99. A couple of days ago it was $9.99, needless to say I didn't buy it.

Oh well, I get to save some money.

I typed in 3D Starter Kit on BB's web site, and I didn't see the Dreamworks pack listed. Did it sell out already and get deleted from their web site? If I didn't already own (and hadn't already opened) the 2D versions of Shrek the Whole Story and Megamind, it would be a no-brainer if I could find this pack. My guess is few stores would have these left anyway, and it seems there's no way to check inventory online.

Also, it was stated these 3D BDs contain the 2D versions of each movie on the same disc. The remaining question is: do these special 2D/3D BDs drop some or all of the normal extras on the 2D-only version? (My guess would be yes but I'd like to know for sure). Thanks.

There are ZERO special features. Picked up a set and already sold the glasses for more than what I payed for the set, so I came out pretty well. Added the 3D versions of all 5 movies to my collection for nada.

It's still on the web site. I tyPed "3D starter" and it's the only thing that came up. I grabbed one today for $40 using RZ points.
One problem is one lens is busted so it's useless. I was going to sell the glasses.

Pretty much sold out at every store within a 300 mile radius from my house and I even tried some other zip codes and found none.

The online store locator isn't very accurate. In fact, iirc, it shows the store inventory as 'zero" whenever it dips below two or three.

Over the years, I've found dozens of things at stores that showed up as not available there.

Just went back to the Signal Hill, CA store and they had 2 left on the floor. I bought one to re-sale the glasses and give the movies to a friend who is getting a 3d TV eventually. I also picked up Jarhead for $5 after U&S and it came with the Fandango bucks.

Yes, I'm aware of that, but I checked my local store and found none. Other stores are 50 miles or more round trip and not worth checking out unless we have errands around those. Guess I'll stick with the 2d versions.

I was able to take the one I bought that was broken to another location and exchange it for a non broken set.
Both of these had all five movies. The Shreks are in a nice thin pack.

I only to use an upgrade coupon on this or I would have paid $30+ for it.
$10 RZ, $5 shop kick and if I remembered $5 u&s, oh well.

U&S probably would not have worked because it doesn't ring up as a blu ray. Maybe you could find a lenient manager who would apply, but you'd have to be pretty lucky
