Are there any exclusive bonus features on the bluray set not found on the SD set? $69 is a great price, but $45 ain't too shabby either (for the SD set)...for someone who's likely to watch this on a 32" set, I'm not sure I'd see that big a difference in PQ. --Peter

It was slightly cheaper at B&N during its release week (with a coupon) but I passed on it even then. The video quality isn't very favorable. This is just an HD upconversion, and the first 3 seasons weren't shot in Widesceen, so I couldn't get myself to fork up money for yet another upgrade. I had bought the original $150/season releases, then the Starburst editions, and then the last release (just for the new bonus disc, then sold the rest). I've spent enough money on Farscape. If you don't already own the previous releases, then jump on this deal. But if you do, you may want to save your money... The biggest reason to upgrade would be the lossless audio, and the one new feature...

I'm sure for owners of the DVD's it's a harder decision to make but for those like me that never bought the DVD's this Blu-Ray set (at this price) is an easy buy.

I read a number of factors that indicate this is the best we'll ever get. First, they filmed season 1-3 in 4x3, which means it was never done in widescreen. Second, the CGI was only done in 576p, meaning if they were to release an HD version they'd have to redo the graphics in 1080p. And third, they scrapped the original negatives because of the high cost of storage.

I got it through the B&N sale and sold the DVD set (still sealed) on half.com for about the same price.

I still haven't watched the dang thing and didn't watch it when it was on TV.

IMHO, it tends to feel rather like a British series rather than an American one. In many ways it's a updating of 1978-1981 BBC series Blake's 7: we've got the semi-organic ship that has superior capabilities to those of the corrupt ruling regime, and a band of criminals and falsely-accused criminals in charge. I've only seen up to around the 15th episode of season 2 (and that was quite a number of years ago), so it could change as it goes on, but I rather enjoyed what I saw. One thing I don't enjoy is the hand-held camerawork, with the image swaying from side to side in many of the scenes set aboard their spacecraft.

Anyone here interested in buying the region 2 10-disc sets for the first two seasons?

Thanks, just picked this up. The blue ray has subtitles, but doesnt include the peacekeeper wars - but got it as a upgrade for me.
