re: International Blu-ray deals

Second package never arrived and after emailing customer service about the problem, they are sending me a replacement package, how awesome is that!

I just wish they have tracking available for their Royal shipments.
So a few days ago, to my surprise, my order placed in February finally arrived! That's after over 2.5 months, and after having received my refund for the purchase as this was deemed as lost in the mail already. Well, in good faith, I sent them an email, and told the I received my package, after 2.5 months. I told them they can charge my account, requesting only if they can give me a discount to my purchase because of the long delay. I got a response today, and was told that they will give me a 10 GBP discount on my order. So my purchase price went from 49.85 GBP to 39.GBP! It took awhile, but I can say I'm happy with how it worked out in the end

That's cool that they gave you a discount, although I really doubt it was their fault, it was probably USPS

re: International Blu-ray deals

DVDGamer, the same thing just happened to me. My package with 3 items shipped March 5 and just arrived yesterday. In the meantime, Amazon sent me and I received replacements for two of the items and they refunded the third. They had shipped it DHL. I haven't contacted them yet but I guess I will. They've always been good about replacing lost or damaged shipments and I've had enough problems that I get worried they'll drop me as a customer. Since they've started using the reinforced packaging for steelbooks, the damage has mostly stopped.

re: International Blu-ray deals

Just in case somebody is on the fence for this one, got the Stallone Collection last night (found here @ Amazon.co.uk). It's actually quite nice, the box is well made (was pretty much perfect when I got it), the case are the standard UK thickness with Cobra, Assassins and Tango in one 3-disc case and then Specialist & Demolition Man in another. It's gorgeous (for a basic box set), it's cheap and even if you have several (I had T&C, Specialist & Demolition Man) of the movies in the set, I think its worth the bread.

BTW, the Predator Trilogy Box Set (6 disc) is down to 11.50 gbp, which makes it about $20 american.

Not sure how much of a deal this is, but Resident Evil 1-4 is 10 pounds.

I got the Stallone set a while ago as well. Not too thrilled about the PQ. 'The Specialist' is up-res'd DVD at best. Haven't seen the others...

The Warner Bros. Stanley Kubrick set is 32 bucks shipped. Great deal if you don't own any of the films yet (though the set has the shorter, international version of The Shining. Also, the UK set does not include Dr. Strangelove or Spartacus like its U.S. counterpart). My copy arrived today but these sets no longer have the booklet the limited edition had, but everything else is the same.

I ordered the Lethal Weapon box set on June 26 and the package arrived July 3, two days earlier than the estimated delivery time. Total cost was $20 including shipping. I'll definitely buy from them again.

They are identical in content to the American BDs except cosmetic packaging differences.

This is Amazon.co.uk related, but not boxsets. Punisher (Thomas Jane version) is back up for sale. Well you can order it, but it says not in stock, so its a crapshoot but at least there is a chance I figure. This version is far superior to the craptastic one released here and its region free to boot.

UK link shows 124 mins. The extended is 140. Too bad, I would love to see the extended on Blu.

re: International Blu-ray deals

I knew about the lack of an extended cut. However, this version is a substantial improvement over the US Blu in the Video, Audio and Extras department. I also do have the extended cut dvd which I fully intend to keep. I just really do not expect to see another release for this movie, so I'll take what I can get.

I love the director's cut on Blu... add the short film "Dirty Laundry" and you even get an epilogue to the movie.

All 8 seasons of Supernatural: ~$89
All 3 seasons of Game of Thrones: ~$79

Region free to boot! That Supernatural one is pretty jaw-dropping.
