Barnes & Noble 50% Off British TV Blu-ray and DVD 9/20/2019 - 9/22/2019
Heads up in anticipation of the British TV DVD and Blu-ray 50% Off MSRP sale starting Friday 9/20 and running through Sunday night 9/22/2019. There are still some unknowns though.
I can't find if this sale will extend to the online site or not. In-store titles should be allowed though some items we might consider British TV aren't always classified that way in the computer. If your store has limited/no Media or an item in OOS in your local store -- you should still be able to participate via the in-store ship-to-home orders as long as items are in-stock. If you are too far away from any media store and it turns out to be B&M only, many stores will do Ship-to-Home orders over the phone though most will not allow Gift Cards to be used for security reasons.
I don't know if the usual 3rd September Weekend Member Appreciation Sale will happen. If so member discounts double to 20%.
I will assume extra 10-20% Coupons will be blocked on 50% off items.
Ship to Home orders for preorders SOMETIMES are allowed, other times they are not. I know some folks were hoping for a nice price on the upcoming Pertwee (OCT 15) and Baker (DEC 3) sets. It's probably worth checking.
From one of the store's Facebook Pages

So far nothing on the website indication an online sale so for now I'm going on the premise it will be in-store only.
Several store social media sites have put up ads so I will assume for now it will be in all B&N stores starting in the morning

Well -- good news is it appears this will be online and in-store
The few items I can find already 50%off have the dreaded NO COUPON language, but that's not unexpected.

The Doctor Who complete David Tennent is $22.49 , but shows $32 + when click, but goes back to $22.49 in cart.
Maybe product page has not been updated.
Not sure what else to get. Any suggestions from anyone?

Hard to say with British TV depending on what you like and if you mind DVD or only BD's -- Poldark is excellent, Endeavor, Grantchester, Murdoch Mysteries, Midsomer Murders, George Gently, Doc Martin, Warricker Series, Foyle's War. Orphan Black, Humans, Sherlock, Inspector Lewis, The Fall, Ripper St. Prime Suspect, Peaky Blinders. SS:GB, Spies in Warsaw
Of course the dramas like Call the Midwife, Downton Abbey. Smiley's People, the original House of Cards. Tinker Tailor, Victoria, Miss Marple, tons of Agatha Christie
Absolutely tons of British 1970, 1980 Comedies on DVD -- prices aren't always the best since some of these have been severely discounted in the past -- Fawlty Towers, Allo Allo, You Have Been Served. Actually one of my favorite pairs is Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister -- absolutely blatantly British political farce and far too relevant in both countries right now..
BN still has the pics and titles misspelled for years, but

Whoa. Thanks, I like sci-fi and bunch of other stuff.I still have peaky Blinders s1,Prime Suspect ,Foyle's War boxset and Downton Abbey still to watch. I still buy lots of DVD's.
I decided on Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell and The Doctor Who complete David Tennent.
I still have two weeks to return my copy of Doctor Who to Best Buy.
I might buy Humans and Sherlock in the future. thanks again

Be sure to price compare. B&N is overpriced, even with their sale.

Given the sale ended Sunday, probably a bit late, but anytime TV sets are involved, it takes 60-70% off MSRP to get to the best prices on BD sets and 75-80% on DVD sets especially for sets that are more than a couple years old.
I usually warn folks of that during the longer sales, but this was such an out of the blue limited time sale it didn't really come up. Unfortunately that's a function of the original MSRP and until B&N abandons the use of that as a sales baseline it's not going to help.
OTOH, for newer BD sets, I can't find anyplace else offering things like the Tennant set which was probably the highest want item for many since it was Week 1 release for $20 (or net 16). By Christmas 2020 or in conjunction with a new DW season premiere it's fairly likely
to see the Tennant set for under $20 at a lot of places.
With a 10% member discount and using 20% off BN Gift Cards, were some excellent deals available.
