This is a currently a pre-order because its not out until January 10th, 2012 but its currently at $34.99. It also is listed as a Best Buy Exclusive version so it could come with some special or a sampler disc like some sets have in the past with Best Buy.

I just did an impulse buy on this. Dunno why but a $35 blu for a season new and I jumped.... I NEVER buy movies on release.

Thanks. I have it pre-ordered through Amazon(showed up in my goldbox). Went ahead and pre-ordered a copy from Best Buy also. Will decide by the weekend which to keep.

btw, Best Buy has three listings for this set. The BBY exclusive @ 34.99, another sku @ 34.99 and one @ 89.99. Went ahead and submitted the non Best Buy Excl. @ 34.99 to Amazon. Hopefully they pm this price as I have some giftcards from the holidays I could use to cover the cost.

Got my Boardwalk Empire for in store pickup. Does BB usually add things like the Game of Thrones sampler on its own or do I need to snag one on my way over to pick the set up??

It's so, so good! You won't be disapointed. Its Scorsese and Buscemi. Amazing depth of characters, lavish production design, music, everything. Some of the best of HBO for sure.

Got "Not Available for Pick-up" email since they tried to get it today (1/9) or before. Since this doesn't come out till 1/10 I can see why they couldn't find it.

Now I have to call CS back tomorrow to make them try and re-pick it, wait for it to cancel, or something else.

Should've just walked it and "picked" it myself. Sigh.

I took the promo dvd that I got from Best Buy of the first episode of Broadwalk Empire and traded it in to get the set for $29.99. Made me pretty happy. I was kind of wondering if they'd turn it down for the trade in, but the CSR accepted it.

Whats the Game of Thrones Sampler? The damn best buy had NO idea what I was talking about so I didnt get it. I plan on buying the set anyway so if its just the first ep or something thats no biggie.

First episode in a slim case. At my store they had them on the floor, either in the movies/TV section or in the front. I picked it myself; they didn't hand it to me at checkout.

I ordered mine back on January 4th, and mine went on backorder yesterday!

I like how Best Buy's website tells you you can't cancel an order minutes after you complete it because it's being "prepared for shipping", but then tells you it's backordered later on.

When it went on backorder, though, I was able to cancel and order from Amazon. The only reason I used BB was because of the low price, which Amazon matched - but not until after I had placed my BB order.
