Re: Target Media Prices (December 18th - 24th, 2011)
Repeating my post from the Best Buy thread...
I appreciate your effort to make this thread. I guess I could've made one myself, but the problem is that I don't have the time to make a list nor do I know about this Examiner site you linked to. I like seeing the weekly ad in a format similar to what you did in the DVD forum (though I prefer fidodido's Fry's threads format the most), but if you're not into Blu-Rays or only have the DVD info, that's fine. I'm not trying to make anyone else do more work they don't want to do. I really just want a place to have discussions of weekly Blu-Ray deals at local stores, and it seems a little weird to create a thread each week which just points to little pictures from this Examiner web site. The lazy (like me sometimes) like to see it all listed in the thread. If we're not going to have a list, then we might as well have a catch-all weekly deal discussion thread. I'd say why don't we just use the existing Target, Walmart, or Best Buy Blu-Ray bargains thread (I'm not sure if a Best Buy one exists), except those threads don't seem to get much attention.
To others, if nobody is going to write up an itemized list of the weekly Blu-Ray deals, would it make sense to create 2 ongoing threads:
"Best Buy weekly Blu-Ray deals discussion"
"Target weekly Blu-Ray deals discussion"
I'm open to suggestions. I have no problem creating the new threads provided some people have interest in them, but if nobody cares but me there's no point in making the threads. We already have an Amazon sticky thread and fidodido takes care of Fry's. That just leaves Target and Best Buy as the other 2 I care about right now since lately they are the only 2 stores with regular ads and deals. Any Walmart deals go into the Walmart Blu-Ray bargains since Walmart does not run regular ads. Best Buy has been doing really well lately (my opinion of them has gone up a lot) but they still aren't out of the doghouse... they are just peeking their head out right now. I fear that these great BB sales were just a holiday-only thing and soon we'll return to the normal BB I so dearly love. I hope not of course.

Given all the paragraphs of analysis on every sale or purchase, I can't imagine listing our prices would be as time consuming.

For anyone interested, Target has Harry Potter 7.2 (BD/DVD) for $14.99 and their Exclusive (BD-4 Disc) for $19.99 this week.

Thanks, Decker. That list (originally by Mikerocosms) is exactly what I'd love to see each week either in new weekly threads or 1 ongoing weekly thread. Was that from another post somewhere else on DVD Talk that I missed or taken from another web site?

It was from CAG (cheapassgamer.com). Glad I could help.

Decker, does someone at CAG always post a list like this for each week's Best Buy and Target Blu-Ray and DVD deals?
If so, would you be able to do either of these 2 possibilities:
1. If it's easy for you, would you mind posting the 2 CAG lists into JohnIan's weekly Blu-Ray post for each store like you did this time? (You don't have to "Spoiler"-ize it. I think it's good that everyone sees it.)
2. If it's not easy for you, do you have a link to the threads where these get posted each week so I can look at them myself without asking others? If it's a different thread each week, what forum or keywords do you search for?
Thanks. BTW, I have nothing against CAG (except I don't care for the formatting and black background and it wants you to log in to read more than a few pages of posts), but I generally don't go there unless someone links to it here or on SD. My impression is that CAG is a place of diehard deal fanatics and lots of stuff gets posted there first and ends up on Slickdeals or here where I can read it more easily.
