I don't spend much on vacation. I go to the ocean with friends to relax and have a good time. A couple weeks of saving does just fine. Don't be a dickhead.

Anyone here with an opinion on the transfers in the Coen set? I looked for it in the dvd talk reviews but couldn't find it.

The structure of the new Amazon pricing system is too tedious for me to wade through (I think they automated it somehow). So I am going to hang up my keyboard and discontinue the lists (I've been at it for more than a year and a half, so it is time anyway). But I may post interesting deals I happen to notice and hope that others will do the same.

Just to show you how crazy the new pricing is:

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (Blu-ray/DVD Combo + UltraViolet Digital Copy) (Pre-order) $24.96 [Save 3¢ over the previous low. Whoopee.]

That's too bad. Thanks for what you were doing.

Maybe they are trying something new only for a little while. Maybe it will go back to normal.

I wouldn't continue to do it either under these circumstances.

As a frequenter of amazon.com and this thread, I am grateful to lizard for all of his efforts in helping us find good deals on movies.

A thanks to Lizard for his efforts. I don't blame you for stopping here; these new price drops are just a little ridiculous.

Re: Amazon Blu-ray Discounts and Deals Thread #27

It's been pointed out by forum member cwwallace in another thread that the $9.99 Fox digibook deal from a few weeks ago is back. Don't know how long it will last this time.

Titles include:

Terminator
An Affair to Remember
All About Eve
The Usual Suspects
Rocky
Tora! Tora! Tora!
The Hustler
The Comancheros
Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid

Thanks to Lizard for the continued hard work. I know just from filling in for a week or so that it can be a headache haha.

I don't even enjoy looking at my cart anymore with all these penny raises and reductions. Do they really think this is encouraging more business? It's like dickering at a garage sale.

Exactly. Can't see the wheat amongst the chaff.

I do wonder what they were thinking when they decided to do this.

Amazon UK has followed this pricing structure for as long as I can remember. I'm guessing this is a permanent change for Amazon.com.

No one can blame you for not wanting to continue the updates. Thanks for all the hard work! So what do plan on doing now that you're retired? Moving to Florida?

Yes, thank you Lizard! I checked everyday. I do not blame you for stopping. Visiting my cart and seeing the decreases and increases of a few pennies is insanely annoying now.

I'll chime in with another thanks to lizard for his efforts. I didn't visit this thread on a daily basis, but would frequently popped in from time to time to scan his latest post for current deals.

Still too much for me, but Real Steel just hit a new low at $20.76.

Maybe they knew about your excellent and helpful price drop lists and decided to screw it all up by tinkering with the prices like this? I do wonder if it would be possible to make scripts that would look at camelcamelcamel instead and pull off the lowest price there or if the problem is having a database. One could skip listing new price drops unless the new price is at least 50c or $1 less than the previous one posted.

All I know is that I never have time to dig on Amazon for lower prices or search particular titles, so the only way I know if a title dropped to a price I want to buy is from your posts. If you can't do them any more because of Amazon's tinkering, then Amazon has pretty much removed the possibility of me buying any BDs from them unless it's posted by someone else here or on Slickdeals.
