Thanks everybody for the answers, I read the reviews and everybody seems to hate the cheap packaging; I bet that is what it is damaged packages.

Alien and BTTF got cheap super-quickly. I doubt that's going to become the standard. That being said, I'm sure SW will be $60 soon enough (10 bucks a film), and $50 by Christmas. These days, unless you really really want to watch it right away, waiting pays off. Most of us have a huge backlog of unwatched BD's and DVD's, so there isn't really a reason to get things right away unless there is a good bonus-disc involved.

Personally, I was lucky enough to get it for $44 from B&N during its release week, using a 50% off coupon.

I just bought it used. Part of it was pointless rebellion--I didn't want Lucas to get a cent--and part of it was the $40 (for the individual sets) price-point. Less, if you consider I sold my unopened Limited Ed. original trilogy (minus the cost of re-buying them used) and the subsequent trilogy. Actually, I came out about $10 ahead when all was said and done.

While this item is available from other marketplace sellers on this page, it is not currently offered by Amazon.com because customers have told us there may be something wrong with our inventory of the item, the way we are shipping it, or the way it's described here. (Thanks for the tip!)

We're working to fix the problem as quickly as possible.
Saw it for Priest 3D awhile back

I concur. The Alien Quadrilogy really kept inline with how the DVD version plummeted all those years ago. But it was still really surprising that BTTF fell to $10!!!!

Will be asking for SW for Xmas this year or picking it up somewhere BF week.

re: Amazon Blu-ray Discounts and Deals Thread #27

I alerted Amazon to the Kino sale at DD and the $24.35 price on the COMPLETE BUSTER KEATON SHORTS Blu. They discounted it today to $29.99, which is five bucks more, but I have to pay DD tax anyway and had a $25 credit at Amazon so I was happy with the discount.

I brought both separate SW Blu-ray box sets used from GH for about $35 total.
I been trying to sale my SW Trilogy the one in the silver box and SW 1-3 the 2 disc versions on CL. All of these are still brand new and sealed. I have gone as low as $35 for all of them no takers.

This happen to me with The Sound of Music UCE. The music box was broken 3 times. They sent me a 4th and a 5th one in boxes that you could fit a bed in. The music box itself is fragile.

I have been watching it for sometime now. I pass on it when they had the 2nd part? for $40 at Christmas time. I really thought it came with 7 discs (where that came from I have no idea). I did jump on it and so far I'm very happy with the 3 extra blu-rays. I do not really see this one going down lower, really from what I seen I order it at $70.49 and less then a hour later it was backup (still there) $99.99

This to me is like the "300" I will buy every version they put out.

If I remember right BTTF was only a short sale last year. It also has never been back under $25. Alien was high all the time. But Amazon.uk had it for $23 us ship (I got that). I now will wait unless I really need to watch it now, in my case mean I seen it at the movie theater(I get in free) . I have way to many un-open discs only to see them drop in price. This one was one I wanted but only for the extra disc. I did not know it had 3 till I open it last night.

This also happens with TV shows alot. I order two and a half men $12.99. Later on the next day the rest jump up over $25 each. I lucked out only missing 1 (Target $14.99), 3 eBay ($11.39).

Your not joking. It did not last very long. Seem like someone could have been doing a price change. Made a bad error and fix it. It did not last a hour.

If it would hit that price again now that I have that $10 mastercard deal coupon, I think I would bite.

Nice! As for the selling, I got rid of them on Amazon. All used and all bought within a week.

Anyone know the difference between the Real Steel BD's? Is it just the digital copy and nothing else? The first one is $24.99, the other is $29.99

I watched part of this last night, and it's a great series, however the entire 300mins+ series is on one Blu-ray. Luckily, it's a BD-50 and comes in at around 47GB or about 15GB per movie. Average bitrate is a little low however, and from randomly using the info button on my BDP-93, I see around 15-18Mbps. Was hoping for around 25Mbps average. It seems to look better than what I remember, but I know it's not the best it can look. Would have preferred three separate BD-25 discs.

BD Deal of the Week: Gettysburg/Gods and Generals Limited Collector's Edition (boxed set) $36.49.

For 3D fans, they seem to have a lot of 3D titles dropped to the $20-21 range. Just off the bat, I see Legend of the Guardians ($20.49), The Polar Express ($20.99), and the IMAX films Deep Sea ($20.49), Hubble ($21.99), and Space Station ($19.99).
