You're not talking about Amazon Mom but a 1 month trial? Is that the one you can start any time you choose as long as you haven't had free Prime (such as Amazon Mom) for at least a year?

Oh how I keep wishing there were some way I could get 1 free month of Prime right now, but I don't see any options given how everyone in my household recently finished the Amazon Mom free Prime.

Now had I known that Amazon Mom was an ongoing forever promotion, it would've made sense for only 1 family member to sign up at a time rather than all at once, but I never noticed those magical details in the fine print.

I'll have to see the BF week deal roster before I decide if it's worth paying $79 for a year of Prime when I only need 1 week's worth. Chances are high that unless it's mega awesome, I'll just go without. In fact, I haven't ordered a thing from Amazon since my Prime expired 2 months ago. Supposedly on Lightning deals once you click on them you have 10 or 15 minutes to complete the purchase, so all I can do is hope there will be more than $25 worth I want in each group (unlikely though). I think it's $2 or $3 shipping per order or item otherwise. I actually don't know since I've never in my life bought anything from Amazon where I had to pay shipping (except Marketplace items).

If you going or thinking of this. You can get a domain name and a PP visa/master card. Set it up and run it till they see it, stop it, then make a new email address or setup a email account where no mater what they put in it goes to you. As for them black balling you, not sure. They would have to do the address. If you have a house just put a apt # so they just do that one. UPS/FedEx/US Mail will still bring it to you. I never signed up for this being I'm a Dad not a mom.

Unfortunately that offer is specifically for you. The free 1 month Prime trial doesn't show up on either of our accounts... probably because we had Amazon Mom in the recent past. If there is a link that gives it to everyone (which I seriously doubt) I'd like to see it, but if there were such a link it would already be front page on SD. I'll either have to pay for Prime or pay shipping during BF week. I won't be able to decide until I see the lightning deals roster. Of course even when I see it, it will be hard to decide ahead of time because they only post the prices of 1 day's deals at a time so it's hard to do the math to see if paying shipping on each order for BF week or buying Prime would be better. Since BB has Mad Men S4 BD for $8.99 that's 1 BF deal I expect from Amazon, but adding on $2.98 shipping means I'd rather order it on BB.com if available.

drq2, I think you were describing a way to safely make another Amazon account, but it sounds too complicated... set up a domain and apply for a new credit card (for that domain as a company rather than in my name I assume) and then add an apt # to my home address? I appreciate the tips and thanks for posting, but not only is there not enough time for this BF but I think that's too much work for me to save $79.

It is exactly that.. so I can provide no link... so anyone who wonders if they have the offer will have to put something in their cart... go to checkout ... and see if the offer is there...

Yes, the offer is there (on an account I don't use much. but is not there on the acct I used last year for Amazon Prime promo). I wonder if I can choose prime, submit the order, then cancel it, so the prime stays. I really don't have anything to buy right now. I may wait a bit to see if Amazon offers a more general Prime offer. I can't believe they haven't yet, esp. since BB and Target both have free shipping offers. I really don't care if the FS is Prime or just free shipping, but I hope they do something. If they don't I think it will hurt them this BF season.

Depends on how you look at it. I own 9 names (two are my last name). I do not even need to make a new email address if I do not want (catch all). This gives me about as many names as wish. The CC being that I have a business that one has free prime so I do not care. The personal account has a card that money is moved into every time I buy something. This does seem hard but if I order something that does not come out till next month (Real Steel) I moved the money into it ($26). I do not have to give it any thought. I also use it for gas (you know you put in $30 in your tank and they take it out 4 days later). I have a big place, when people work for me they stay with me this time of the year. I just say apt # and all is good. Also my GF and some of the other here right now use my card (its all good) under their name. Amazon has yet to say anything about it. So I would say a new CC/ATM card is not need.

If all this was not in place then doing it yes it would be worth just paying the $80 a year. Twice I could have gotten it for free and both times I would not. The business one was what happen last year to me. Funny in the end they gave me back the old account and even send a we are sorry letter and a gift card (I have not used it, nor will I).

As long as they ship it by UPS or FedEx I am more then happy to pay the extra. US Mail. I just return everything they send by that (I have to drive, stand in line a total of 2 hours).

Yes, I list the Amazon price but some items have third party prices that are lower but still qualify for free shipping, being "fulfilled by Amazon". In those cases the actual Amazon price is listed on the right side of the page under "more buying choices" (not that one wouldn't want to take advantage of the lower price from the third party seller).

[Why is it that anything I want doesn't have these low third party prices?!]

Okay I feel dumb. I was viewing on my phone and didn't even see that before. Usually I view on my computer but am moving so it's packed up still.

That $28 price for the LotR theatrical editions is unusually good (save for the people who got it for $8 from the Target pricing mistake). I probably should have mentioned it, but it is just too much work to track third party prices because they can change so quickly as they sell out.

So, I'm glad you mentioned it.

I posted Firefly at 1.57 AM PST, 4:57AM EST or 11:57PM HST when I bought it. You'd prefer a separate thread for one title?

Any thoughts (or info) on when the Amazon BF Schedule is going to come out? I fully expect to see it this week.
