Picked up the following BDs this evening:
Ghost and Mrs.Muir - $4
Seven Year Itch - $4
The Fly (1954) - $4
Gentleman's Agreement - $4
Fantastic 4 (Target Exclusive DigiBook version) - $4 (includes UV)
Fault in our Stars (little Infinities edition) - $4 (includes UV)
Die Hard (1987 original) - $4
The Purge - $4 (includes UV)
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel - $2.40 (includes UV)

Took a chance on these two despite mediocre reviews:
Gentleman Broncos - $0.60 (it was priced at $1.50, rang at $0.75)
All About Steve - $2.40

DVDs:
Fox Studio Classics 4 pk - Anna and the King of Siam/Can-can/Daddy Long Legs/Star (with slip cover) - $6.40
Will Rogers Collection - Vol 1: $6.40

There were tons more TCM/Warner 4 pks all thrown around in quantities that just didn't fit in the small storage space allocated to media. Scouring thru the mess was like dumpster diving.
Your store had ALOT more stuff than mine did!

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I picked up the following at $4 each:

The Fly
The Ghost and Mrs. Muir
The Seven Year Itch
Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea

There were single copies of each of them.

I'm interested in the The Fault in our Stars but there were probably 4 copies in the display. I'll probably look for it again when I have a $5 off $15/$20 coupon and need some other stuff.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I haven't gone to Puyallup in over a year, because it's a bit of a drive & their dvd stock had been cut by 3/4. Are they carrying a lot of film again?

...first time in awhile they've received any bulk, there were a lot of dvds and several blu-rays I hadn't seen there before.

Blus included:

The Fly
The Ghost and Mrs. Muir
The Seven Year Itch
Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea
Gentlemen's Agreement
Die Hard (and the 3rd)
Several James Bond titles (Connery Moore)

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I would have grabbed Fly & Voyage if I'd seen them.

I suspect a dealer beat me to the superstore.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I picked up The Fly (last copy) today at 72nd. No Voyage. They had a lot of dvd's, very few blu's & nothing I considered special.

I made the incorrect assumption that because the "superstore" had only garbage early on Saturday that would be the case in other stores also.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I saw the Katherine Hepburn 100th Anniversary DVD Box for $8 but it is such an odd selection of her films
Morning Glory
Sylvia Scarlett
Dragon Seed
Without Love
Undercurrent
The Corn Is Green (TV movie remake)

I know she won her first Oscar for Morning Glory but this isn't exactly a best of set.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I would still nab that for $8. Sounds like the 2 closest stores to me did not get much of a selection.

i would too. See if it has the same product code as the TV seasons and you could get 2 for $14. The issue was more with the mess which the huge new selections made in that little area for media.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Here their weren't many new titles at either of the stores I went to. Don't know if it's due to resellers or they just didn't receive much stock.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

Checked the local Big Lots to me in Maryland - basically, they had 1 of most of the Blu's mentioned so far, but only 1 of each out on display. Saw some of the TCM 4 packs, no Hepburn box or Will Rogers.

I picked up:
Ghost and Mrs.Muir - $5
Seven Year Itch - $5
Counselor - $5
Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea $5

My advice - if interested, go sooner than later to check it out.

Good hunting!

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

New $10 Disney batch in the local Big Lots in SoCal - some have a 'Previously viewed' sticker on them but its clear that these are excess inventory liquidation as some of them have brand new Slip covers and include digital code

Star Wars - Force Awakens (BD+DVD+DC) - says 'previously viewed'
Tomorrowland - with slip cover and DC (- says 'previously viewed')
Alice thru the Looking Glass
Jungle Book (2015) with Slip cover and DC (- says 'previously viewed')
Zootopia - with slip
Inside Out

Yep, here in Houston too, same titles. If I had found a Zootopia with slip I would have gotten it...but they were all plain cover. There wasn't any copies of Tomorrowland either. The ones with slips were Jungle Book and Inside Out. So like most things, it's just variable by location. And all of mine also said previously viewed, so I was a little antsy anyway about getting them at $10 a pop.

I saw all those here this past weekend. I might have purchased a few but already purchased any I'd be interested in at the same price during BF, and other random, sales. I don't get how they can charge those prices for "previously viewed" product... any vendor. But they do and some people actually purchase them.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I can't imagine any Disney I'd spend $10 on with the possible exception of Fantasia, which I have a fine dvd of.

Disney has done an amazing job of creating artificial shortages of product over the years & inflating prices as a result. Most of their stuff is aimed at pre teens, imo.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I bet when I go shopping next month, BL will not have most of those titles. Every location gets more titles than others.

Re: Big Lots Blu-rays

I had a $5 off of $20 coupon and stopped by a store yesterday. I bought that Point Pleasant set as well.

And I also picked up One Hour Photo & Rob Roy for $3 each on BD.
