Major turn-off for me personally is that it comes in either space-killing "globe" packaging or book-style packaging with the discs inserted into slots in the pages, neither of which I'm a fan of.

Might want to continue discussion, if anyone desires, in the old thread:

Thanks for the clarification and link.

I want to own these, but hate the fact that one has to buy two or possibly even three different versions of it to get all the features.

Between that and already owning one or two of the smaller pieces of these sets, I'll probably hold off for now.

Quo Vadis for $7.99 is a major steal. Anyone with even a passing interest in Roman epics needs the Blu-ray edition.

I know what you mean. Same-thing with the House of Wax remake unrated version that was once promised when it was first announced onto dvd. And then it was canceled and never released. But yet cover Art was released though.

I must admit the "House of Wax" remake surprised me. I expected it to suck, especially with Paris Hilton. It was totally creepy and I loved it. I give full credit to director Jaume Collet-Serra. His "Orphan" flick was outstanding too.

Don't know if anyone mentioned it...

Big (Tom Hanks) BD is $6.99 after a $3 coupon. You can find it by first logging in to your account and looking near the top of the product page (pretty sure NY residents are excluded from coupons): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Awesome film and Blu Ray. A performance by Peter Ustinov as Nero that will literally haunt you after you watch it. Can't recommend this Blu title enough. I got it for the same price used at GoHastings so for a new copy, this is indeed a steal.

Amazon has price matched Best Buy for Paul, Your Highness, Fast Times and other blu-rays with $10.00 off if you buy two.

Well I thought I was going to hold off on getting Your Highness till later cause of not so good reviews but getting that and Paul with $10 off is too good to pass up.

Still going to get Super at BB tomorrow though due to the exclusive extra disc.

Thanks for the heads up on the ten off. I was about to make a puchase for two of those, at 2 different sites. You saved me in the nick of time.

Hmm, that is tempting to go with The Blues Brothers now that the blu-ray has the theatrical cut. How long does the price match last, through Saturday?

Re: Amazon Discounts and Deals Thread #7 (is it #7? I'll pretend it is)

Pre-ordered The Crow blu-ray for $13.29 in my gold box. I'd have preferred a $10 price point for this old film, but I had a GC.

Also, the coupons stack if you get Paul, Your Highness and Hot Fuzz all together. You get the Paul and Your Highness $10 and the Paul and Hot Fuzz $7 off, making it $41.97, or $13.99 each.

Yeah -- altered theme music or not, that's a great price for Married With Children on DVD. If you wait for it to go 50% off, you'd be paying just $3 a season.

I thought I did good with $7 a season for the individual sets. Still, I'll hang onto them because of the packaging and episode lists - even if they take up a lot more shelf space.

In Target's $10 GC deal, Blues Brothers and 3 of the other eligible titles are cheaper. But Paul and Your Highness are more expensive. I just notified Amazon about Target's price on Blues Brothers. If they lower it to 17.99, and I'll get that and Paul with this deal...

Walmart has 'The Crow' preorder for $10 if you wanted to go that route and use your GC on something else

I just noticed the $10 off Amazon deal is running through November 15. I wonder if prices are likely to go up or dip between now and then.

Great price on Micmacs. It's never been this low, according to Camel, and considerably lower than anywhere else I've seen.

It's still higher than some are willing to pay for a new BD, but I'll bite with a Gift Card order.

Re: Amazon Discounts and Deals Thread #7 (is it #7? I'll pretend it is)

I'm slightly tempted by Betsy's Wedding (which I thought was OK) and My Father the Hero (which I've never seen) for $4.49. I know they are BD-25 transfers with 2.0 sound, no subtitles, no extras, and no remastering, so basically barebones DVDs with 1080p resolution. Do people think the price will go down a bit more?

I know that Target once had these Mill Creek BDs for $3.99 (but they didn't carry many of these titles), and the others titles seem to stay around $4.99 on Amazon, so I'm thinking waiting for lower prices on the Mill Creek $4.49/$4.99 BDs should besafe.
