Surprised. Did the order line entry say "USED - BLURAY?" Definitely call them and they should exchange it for you. weird.

I already did, thanks. They do not have an exchange policy on used items which is explicitly stated on their policies. What I do in such cases is that while I am on the phone for the refund, I also check inventory for the correct item and if it is available, I place an order right then and there and provide them the order number so that when it ships, they can perform any price adjustments per the original order. They are good about it and capture that in the case history. So in this case, I placed another order for the box set, it shipped today and this morning I received an email that they have refunded the price difference. The DVD set is back on its way to them on their dime for a full refund.

This sale is ruining me. NEVER have I seen so many of my wishlist items be in stock over the duration of a sale. And placing an order for a minimum of 4 to get the max discount, is killing me :-)

I've had at least 2 items drop in price since I placed a order - both to the 40% off I paid! I'd try to get a price adjustment but the last time I contacted CS before a order shipped it got cancelled rather than adjusted.

I have noticed that too. On many titles, as soon as a title is OOS, its price is lower than what it was when in stock. And when it comes back in stock, its at the higher price. I think their sale price is programmed to 'adjust' to a higher price based on the quantum of the current sale's discount

And they just canceled my Star Trek TOS 1-3 set due to being OOS....Grrrr, it was one of THE series I had in mind for Thanksgiving watching. Thanks, Hastings

Ordered:

Island of Death
Evilspeak
You Only Live Twice
The Living Daylights
License To Kill
Goldeneye
Diamonds Are Forever

Got those for around $44 shipped. I only wanted the Bond films at Best Buy during Black Friday, so this probably means I can stay home

The bummer here is both titles are still listed as being in stock.

On many OOP titles the OOS price is frequently lower than the actual price when in stock. I have a couple of the old AB Hammer titles in my wish list with both showing ~$8 prices. I absolutely know when/if they come in stock they'll be $50 or more. I've seen this happen on non OOP titles but not as frequently.

Re: Hastings / gohastings.com discounts and deals on Blu-ray

okay, got my last big batch from gohastings.
True Grit ($4)
RE: Retribution 3D ($6)
LOTR: EE trilogy ($24)
Expendables 2 ($4)
DOFD: Rogue Cut ($5)
3 Musketeers 3D ($6)

(prices include shipping)

All pristine. The LOTR even came shrinkwrapped.
I am convinced that the owners just downloaded the digital/ultraviolet copy, and sold the media. No way these could have been viewed even once. I think True Grit was the only one that had a few light finger print marks (easily removed).

Continue to be a happy camper with this company...

Just wish shipping was cheaper when buying a bunch of discs. Sometimes the S&H is almost as much money as some of the used BDs!

While it does seem a bit steep with a larger order it's not so bad when you compare their $1.29 each with the $3.99 each from a Amazon MP vendor. I also cut them a bit of slack as they ship from whichever store happens to have your title at the time of the order. I've had a 10 item order come in 10 different envelopes from 10 different stores. I'd bet they're at best breaking even on shipping.

Re: Hastings / gohastings.com discounts and deals on Blu-ray

They ship from multiple locations. So if an order of 5 titles ships from 5 locations for each, it costs a pretty penny to do that. I hope you realize that USPS charges about $2.70 for cheapest media mail option to even ship to your next door neighbor. So in the grand scheme of things, its still a great value. Am super impressed with the company so far.

Re: Hastings / gohastings.com discounts and deals on Blu-ray

I guess I always get my BDs in one box/bag... if they ship separately, then totally understand.

And with these prices and this condition, I am definitely not complaining..

Even getting fancy slipcovers lately. Normally I just throw these out, but some of these look nice.. Not bad for used discs!

3 of the 4 bd's I brought from the last sale have shipped out. Of course their lost in Media Mail hell. So I don't expect these to arrive after Dec 4th if I get lucky.

The The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies 3D extended bd status is still in progress.

USPS is awful and its a wonder sometimes as to how the discs get to their destination at all. So many recent instances when the tracking number shows nothing other than the original label creation status and remains that way even afte delivery. Their tracking system is a poor excuse for one.

That being said, I received the Desolation of Smaug EE 3D ($11) in perfect shape with the cardboard slip and lenticular which were both missing on a previous order. Received 'Dawn of the POTA 3D' with the slip which was good. Received a new, sealed 'The Deep' (the original Sony disc, not the Image one). And finally received 'Christine' ($5) with the slip AND a UV code inside which worked !! So all in all really a happy camper.

I'd not planned on purchasing this title until it came down in price a bit more but with BD/DVD/UV (I'll give the UV code to my son) plus the cheesy plastic skull as a bonus I couldn't resist! Thanks?

Just got the cancellation email for The The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies 3D Extended bd. Figured that would happen since it's been a week since I placed this order.
